Linking up with April and the other girls for 5 on Friday!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

1. {READ}

This article on 101 Fashion Tips and Tricks Every Girl Should Know is really informative. Did you know you should wear your leather jacket in the rain when you first buy it? The leather will soften and stretch to fit your body better. Or that you can use a lemon wedge to remove sunless tanner that is streaky or in excess? You can read these and more on the list.

2. {LISTEN}
500 Days of Summer is one of my favorite movies ever. It has such great music in it but the song when the credits are rolling in the beginning is definitely my favorite. It's by Regina Spektor who has a beautiful voice. I always thought it was such a sweet song and in my opinion is about an epic romance. But then I read elsewhere that other people interpret it to be about communism?! So who know's what it's really about. I still like it a lot.

3. {BUY}
Before I owned my own house I never cared about flowers. Now I want them everywhere. I got this orchid for my birthday and it's still living!

 I've had it for 3 weeks today and it looks as good as the day I bought it. I figured it would die the moment I brought it in the house. I guess the trick is to not water it often and place 3 ice cubes in the soil once a week and let them melt. My orchid was called a "Just Add Ice" orchid so that's what I do and it's working!
Since I'm so obsessed with flowers all of a sudden, I bought this bouquet on Wednesday

And these hydrangeas yesterday!

I read somewhere you're supposed to have something living in every room and yes, your pet does count. So get yourself some flowers today because they really do bring life and color to a room!

4. {WATCH}
If you're a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan like myself, you MUST, I repeat, MUST watch Clear History on HBO. It has an insane list of actors in it: Jon Hamm (HOTTIE!!), Kate Hudson, Larry David, Eva Mendes, Bill Hader, Michael Keaton. For a movie made for HBO I have no clue how Larry David got all these famous to people to be in it. If you're a Seinfeld fan you'd love it too. I won't discriminate, if you're a movies fan, and who isn't, I think you'd like it. It's dry humor like Seinfeld or Curb.
Here's the trailer for it:

Even if you hate it you get to stare at this for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Love me some Don Draper.

5. {EAT}
Peanut Butter fans will LOVE this cereal. It's so good I want to eat for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. I crave it even for dessert! They aren't overpowering with peanut butter, they're the perfect amount. Just talking about them is making my mouth water!!

Have a good weekend!

  1. I love the piano in that song. I love flowers too but orchids are not my friends. I kill them every time. I found out about the ice cube trick after the last one went in the trash can. Maybe I'll try it one more time. I saw that movie while flipping through the channels last night and was curious why I had never heard of it. Sounds like a good one!

  7. I love flowers! I wish I could afford to have fresh flowers delivered to my house every week. Orchids are my favorite...it will lose it's flowers eventually but just keep watering it as you are with the ice cubes and fertilize every so often and eventually it should re-bloom.
