Fall Weekend

by Ally Harding, 5:00 AM
I don't think I ever stopped saying "I'm so happy it's Fall!" all weekend and I don't think Theo ever stopped rolling his eyes everytime I said it. Even though it's now Fall the 84 degrees outside proved otherwise. I didn't care I was still in the Fall mood!

I decorated our mantle

Spruced up our breakfast nook table

Put out the Fall dishcloths

Found these wax cubes at Wal Mart and thought what the heck, might as well try it out. And boy was I surprised how well the wax smells. I've said it before but I have the hardest time getting candles to smell in our house and even when I normally burn wax in the warmer the scent doesn't go very far. But this cheap Wal Mart wax smells! And it smells good!  Nothing like the smell of Fall in your house!

If you're a Pumpkin Spice Latte / Chai Tea Latte lover like myself, have I got a treat for you! Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte!! OMG it's so good and really tastes like a combo of the two! I got it from Target for about $3.50. It was on sale and I grabbed the last carton. If it hadn't been you can bet your bottom dollar I would have snatched up 3 more. I mixed it with Original Almond Milk and it was DE-licious!

I can't wait for it to get a little cooler so I can buy some mums and pumpkins for the front porch. This is the look I'm going for

I also tackled my inner Pioneer Woman and baked some Pumpkin Banana Bread. My idea was to bake it for our neighbor who had surgery but then I figured I should probably bake a loaf for us first in case it comes out gross. I wouldn't want the bread to come out bad and I had no clue because I hadn't tasted it. Well, it came out great and even Theo who isn't a pumpkin fan loved it! I also made some for my Mom and Theo's Mom. I don't bake often so when I do I want to make sure everyone knows!

Besides putting decorations up and baking I went to lunch at California Dreaming with my Mom, Grandma, and Aunt on Saturday and we enjoyed the gorgeous weather and beautiful view.

Afterwards I met Pixie's HUGE twin! My Mom's neighbor was watching their daughter's Goldendoodle that I kept hearing looked just liked Pixie.
You can't tell from this picture but this little girl weighs about 80 lbs and to put it in perspective, Pixie weighs around 40 lbs.

Just look at her next to me, she's a giant!
Excuse my unladylike sitting, the dog was attacking me and I was trying to get a good picture so I wasn't too concerned about my legs being open with a dress on.

I came home and our friends Mark and Allison met us with their Weirmaraner Jeb and we walked to the dog friendly restaurant Parson Jack's for some food and beer.
It was so cute seeing the 2 men walking the dogs side by side.

We had a low key Saturday night and ordered pizza and watched my new favorite show
I love this show and am sad we're almost done with the season! If anyone can recommend another good show similar to Orange is the New Black let me know! While we're watching I'm always telling Theo that either the acting is really that good or these people aren't acting they're just that trashy. I mean seriously where did they find these people?! Such a good show!

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

  3. I get really happy when I see that others watch Orange is the New Black. LOVE it! We're watching House of Cards now, but it's not as good. I think I'm a little slow for House of Cards, and don't know enough about the government to keep up. You can try it out though. Wanting to start Breaking Bad soon!

  8. Loving all the fall decor. Too early for me to put out my pumpkin? That bread looks great! And we breezed through Orange is the New Black, too. I haven't seen anything quite like it, but hopefully it's back again soon!
