5 on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Only 19 days till Christmas!

1. {READ}
I have seriously said this one too many times.

 I am guilty for looking for happiness in material things. I know I love to shop a little too much and I also know why I shop. This was another reason why I wanted to stop shopping till the end of the year. As much as I love the rush from shopping, I know it's only temporary. I saw this article on 6 Reasons Why People - Not Things- Will Make You Happier and I thought it was written for me. I especially love the one about being happier if you stop worrying about financial success.

2. {LISTEN}
When I was younger, my friend Tiffany and I would listen to the Hanson Snowed In CD on repeat and still to this day it's one of my favorite Christmas CD's. I'm not afraid to admit I used to dance around my room to this song in high school.

I'll always love those blonde haired beauties... I mean boys.

3. {BUY}
I've been thinking about what to buy my child for Christmas, and by child I mean my dog, does anyone else call their dog their child or am I the only wacko? Anyways, I rounded up a list of Pixie's wants- according to moi.

Pixie loves to lay up against our pillows in our bed so for Christmas I decided to get her a bolster bed. I love this L.L. Bean one because you can get their name monogrammed on it. I'll also be checking out Costco for one because they make great dog beds.

Pixie had one of these martians a few months back and she loved it, till she chewed it up and stuffing was everywhere, but it did last a good bit longer than a normal toy does. They have squeaks in them that only dogs can hear so it's wonderful for us too.

I think the concept of BarkBox is aborable, every month you doggy gets a box of treats, toys, and other goodies sent to your house. It starts around $19 a month. Pixie chews up toys sometimes in seconds, so I find I am always at the store looking for a new toy to buy her. How awesome would it be to come home and have a box waiting for us with toys in it!?

4. {WATCH}
I love this time of year for many, many reasons but one of the main reasons is the movies. Christmas movies are such great feel good movies and I could watch them all day long. It's nothing to walk in my house and see Lifetime or Hallmark on for hours. ABC Family has the 25 Days of Christmas which I love and I have my schedule printed and sitting on my refrigerator. If you're interested in the schedule you can see it here. My most favorite Christmas movie is The Santa Clause.

It's always been to magical to me and I look forward to every year.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is a close second.

Love Actually is my favorite adult Christmas movie and it was going to be the movie we watch every year on Christmas Eve but then I became a nurse and I've had to work Christmas eve for the past 2 years. :(

What's your favorite Christmas movie?

5. {EAT}

Pioneer Woman posted these delicious Pretzel Turtles a few days ago and my mouth is watering. Then I saw they only have 4 ingredients and are super easy to make. These would be so cute wrapped up in little baggies to hand out to your neighbors. It's either that or me eat them all because my husband doesn't care for sweets. I know, how is he living??

Have a great weekend!!

  4. Love all of those movies so much! My friend makes something a lot like the pretzel turtles and they are definitely amazing. Two Pixie ideas: Nylabones are so durable and well-priced plus the dog beds at Costco are some of my favorites (bonus that they are filled with cedar chips and smell great). Happy weekend, love!
