It's beginning to look a lot of Christmas....

Before I start this post I have to say something funny someone said to me one time. They said imagine a world with no women in it and think of what would become of Christmas. Nothing. You really think men would take the time to decorate and get the house all done up for Christmas if they didn't have a nagging wife asking them to? Doubtful. Would they keep the spirit of Santa Claus alive? Probably not. I just thought that was so funny and true!

This was a such a great weekend for me because we finally got our house decorated! I was getting sad seeing other bloggers with their pretty houses decorated and all my neighbors with their decorations out. So now it was our turn!

We got our tree from Costco for $28. I'm not even kidding. It's a full 8 footer too. It was our first time using them and for sure won't be our last. I got our ornaments from there too and used a bunch of our left over wedding guest gifts too, which were ornaments with our names on the ribbon. I found the silver garland from Hobby Lobby for half off and the star from Wal Mart. I had been eyeing the tree skirt at TJ Maxx for weeks and figured it would be long gone by the time I went to buy it but lucky for me it was still there!

I waited too long to order our stockings on sale so I picked up some nice wool ones from World Market.

The hurricane lamps with ornaments were used at our wedding on all the banquet tables. A plus to having a Christmastime wedding!

Last week Theo decorated our steps with white lights and wreaths I got at Bed Bath and Beyond for $11 with my 20% off coupon.

I caught little girl enjoying them too.

I put our Christmas tree from last year on the entree way table.

We were on our honeymoon till December 23 last year so this tree was the best we could do!

We got our porch all decorated too!

Lit up at night.

My only wish is for the Christmas season to last longer so all my decorating doesn't have to come down so soon!

  7. Beautiful tree and what a steal! We were just noticing how affordable live trees are in NC. We used to pay over $100 for an 8 foot tree in DC and we saw them this weekend for $45! The picture of your pup is SO sweet!

  14. Beautiful - well done! Love the tree skirt. My husband gives me the worst time for wanting to talk thru TJ Maxx 1-2 times a week. It's my go-to bored thing to do :)

  19. Your decorations are beautiful! My husband does the build of holiday decorating and he LOVES Christmas so in a world with no women his house would still be decked out for the holidays, though I can only imagine that it would be a lot tackier without me to moderate.

  22. I can imagine how hard it is to look for the appropriate Christmas decor for a small porch. I also have the smallest porch in the neighborhood, and I'm really envious of all those fabulous decorations they have during holidays. Hehe! I think it's time to renovate our porches and make it a bit bigger for the next holiday season. A great project for 2014, right? :)
