{Crock Pot Balsamic Beef}
adapted from addapinch.com
Ingredients
1 3-4 lb chuck or round roast
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 garlic gloves, chopped
I halved the recipe since it was just the two of us. Still turned out great.
Recipe
Place roast beef into crock pot. In a cup, mix together all remaining ingredients. Pour over roast beef. Cook on High for 4 hours, or Low for 6-8 hours.
Once roast beef is done cooking, remove from slow cooker with tongs into serving dish. Break apart slightly with two forks then ladle about 1/4-1/2 cup of gravy over roast beef.
After being in the crock pot for 10 hours. I wanted it to be as tender as possible.
I served the beef with good ole fashioned premade mashed potatoes and these Spicy Green Beans.
{Spicy Green Beans}
Ingredients
1 lb of fresh green beans
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 teaspoon of Chili Garlic Paste the Huy Fong brand (brand that makes Srirachi) is recommended but I couldn't find it so I used what I could find.
Garlic Salt
Olive Oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
Recipe
Turn burner on Medium High. In a skillet, coat with pan with Olive Oil. Throw in green beans and let them sizzle. Shake the pan and toss the green beans every couple of minutes.
After about 7 minutes, add the minced garlic. Stir evenly around and turn the burner down to Medium so the garlic doesn't burn.
After about a minute, add the Chili Garlic Paste. After 2 more minutes add the Garlic Salt. Sprinkle enough to cover all the green beans.
Once the beans are cooked to how you like them, add the soy sauce and let it sit on Medium Low for 2 minutes.
Add the beans to a bowl and pour the sauce on top.
If you aren't into spicy these are not for you. Although the garlic and soy sauce really do cut down on the spice and give it an overall good flavor.
We watched You're Next after dinner.
Don't let the movie poster turn you off. The movie is about a family who gets together for their parents 35th wedding anniversary and while eating dinner starts getting attacked by someone outside. It's a good slasher movie but I really like the family dynamic. If you like scary movies I highly recommend it.
Funny, I JUST showed Jameel this recipe on Pinterest. It looks soo good, as do those green beans!!
