First of all, I'm just happy January is over. January is my least favorite month of the year. Nothing against January personally, it's just it comes after Christmas and it's a let down Christmas is over. Plus it's been way too cold this year so far and I'm ready for some warmer temperatures.

I've been looking forward to February for awhile because this Friday I'm headed here
to do this
It'll be my first cooking class and I'm really looking forward to it. I would love to know how to use knives correctly and just how to cook the right way. I can follow a recipe but having a professional teach me would be awesome.

Valentine's Day has never been a big deal to me. I've always felt like why should you shower your loved one with gifts and go out of your way to do something special just one day. Everyday should be special. At the same time I am a girl and I do love flowers and candy and I hope *fingers crossed* Theo is reading this and surprises me with a little something special.
Like this baseball cap to wear to the beach or when washing my hair just doesn't sound like a fun idea
Yup, I'm pretty sure these would make me a happy girl on V-day

Peter Pilotto for Target is in stores and online on February 9. If you don't know who they are take a look at some of their pieces on celebs
They design gorgeous crazy pieces with tons of color. Their look book for Target looks pretty good but I won't get my hopes up considering most of the designer collaborations with Target are a bust.

In my attempts to eat healthier this year it also means I have to get Theo on board too. He isn't a big vegetable fan but somehow he loves brussels sprouts. We always roast them, and they're delicious but I'm also looking for new ways to eat them. This recipe for The Best Brussels Sprouts looks so yummy and easy I can't wait to try it.
Totally agree about how long January is and comparing it to Monday! True story!!

ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get on the brussels sprouts train, also. Cameron loves them but I'm not 100% convinced yet. Have a recipe on my meal plan this week that combines them with gorgonzola and cranberries! TGIFebruary!
ReplyDeleteLove that long sleeve dress, but I'm with you, I'm not sure the collaborations hold up to the hype! That cooking class sounds so fun!!
ReplyDeleteThat cooking blast is going to be so much fun!! I've been "trying" to take a sushi making class forever now haha!! Love the monogrammed hat - that is so cute :)
ReplyDeleteI love to cook! But was actually thinking the other day how I hate how slow I slice and dice...I may need to take a class! How fun
ReplyDeleteI completely agree about January it's such a blah month. I always forget about those big designer launches at Target and then I go online a few days later and everything is sold out (like the Phillip Lim bags). I like the prints especially for the spring.
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome that you are doing your first cooking class! I've been wanting to take one with my fiance. I can't wait to hear about it on the blog!
ReplyDeleteThose sprouts look delicious! I also can't wait to hear about your cooking class! How fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you get some awesome goodies for V-Day, and thanks SO much for linking up with us!

Loving the new line at Target. Have fun at your cooking class; can't wait for the full report! And yes, you need a monogrammed hat because one, you live in the South, and two, you'll get tons of use out of it!
ReplyDeleteOooh that cooking class looks like so much fun!! Loving those shades too! Xx
ReplyDeleteMMM love brussels sprouts!! Check out my recipe here: http://www.skinnyopinion.com/2013/12/05/the-trick-to-brussels-spouts/

Oooh that brussels sprouts recipe looks good!! Might have to give it a try sometime!
ReplyDeleteLove me some brussel sprouts. Really make me wonder why all children hate them so much, they are delicious!
ReplyDeleteI am curious about the Target collaboration. I want a full report of your cooking class. I love that place.
ReplyDeleteThose brussel sprouts look so yummy! I am such a huge love but my hubby hates them so I only ever make them when he is out of town. That's so good to know abut the latest Target collaboration! I had no clue it was coming so I will definitely be on the look out! Thanks so much for sharing your favorite things with us!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one that isn't a fan of the Target/designer collaborations! They are always such a let down to me. I'm so happy January is over now if we can just fast forward through February I will be one happy girl!
ReplyDeleteI love brussel sprouts- now that I've figured out how to cook them. That recipe sounds yum! I like cooking mine with pancetta :)
ReplyDeleteAnd as for V-day, the blog worked for me! I posted a few goodies I'd like and lo and behold dave surprised me early the tshirt from old navy!
I'm always excited for the start of February as I also think January is such a cold and dreary month. Loving the monogrammed baseball cap and the sunglasses and the cooking lessons...so need those!!
ReplyDeleteForgot to say thank you ever so much for voting!!!
ReplyDeleteNew follower (fellow SC girl!) - happy February! Looking forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteYou're the second person to mention this about January being the least favorite month. And you know what, I totally agree now that someone's mentioned it!
ReplyDelete#1--so true! Ready for winter to be over!!
