Destination Vacation

by Ally Harding, 5:00 AM
My friend Cait has been in Europe for the past 1 week and a half and all her pictures on Instagram have gotten me super jealous! I love to travel and have been very fortunate to have gone on some great trips through Theo's company. There are so many places I'd love to visit but I decided to narrow down the top ones:

{ONE}
New York City

Yes the first place I'd love to visit isn't even out of the country! I've been dreaming to go to NYC since I was a little girl. I'm just afraid I'd fall in love and never want to come home! I've lived in the suburbs all my life so whenever I visit somewhere where you can walk everywhere you want to go I just love it. I mean I love that we can walk to Parson Jack's Cafe from our house! I just recently heard that flights from Charleston to NYC aren't that expensive so I'm begging Theo to take me there this Christmas and for our 2nd anniversary. To be in NYC during Fashion Week would be amazing too but to be there during Christmas is at the top of my list.

{TWO}
London

I can remember the day I decided I wanted to go to London. I was in second grade and my student teacher that year, Mrs. Murray, was from England and I thought she was an angel and wanted to visit this place she came from. Because in my little second grade eyes if she came from there it must be awesome. That dream hasn't ever gone away. Luckily Theo is dying to go there too so I'm thinking it may happen one day. You should have seen us when we went to Harry Potter World, which I know is nothing like real London, we were like kids in a candy store.

{THREE}
Paris

While I'm visiting London I might as well make a pit stop in Paris right? What girl doesn't want to visit Paris?! It just looks so magical and beautiful. I've heard it's very dirty though and that the French aren't too nice to us Americans but that still doesn't stop me from wanting to visit. I just remember The Hills when Lauren Conrad went to Paris and met a hot Frenchman and rode off on his vespa. Sorry Theo, I can't guarantee if a hot Frenchman came by on a vespa and asked me if I wanted to ride off into the Eiffel Tower with him I wouldn't say no. :)

{FOUR}
Greece

After seeing The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, yes I get my travel tips from TV, I wanted to visit gorgeous Greece. The water is so blue and and Greece looks so amazingly beautiful. We almost took a Mediterranean cruise, what were we thinking??!, for our honeymoon and would have been able to go to Greece. I hope we decide to go one day.

{FIVE}
Australia

Ever since seeing Finding Nemo... I kid I kid. I would totally suffer through that 20 hour flight or whatever it is to go to Australia. Considering how long the flight is, I think you need a good 3 weeks there. That's alright, I have no problem taking that much time off from work.

{SIX}
Norway

I have family in Oslo, who I think may be reading this!, who keeps telling us we need to come visit. Can I just say I googled "Oslo" and this gorgeous picture came up. I feel dumb saying this, but I had no idea Oslo was so pretty. I hate to think I don't travel more because there are some many beautiful places I never even knew existed.

Of course these would all require some big time

Any tips?!

  2. Gorgeous pictures of some wonderful destinations! Definitely make your first trip to NYC before Christmas - it's magical! When you go to Paris you should also try to spend a few days in Provence (in the south of France). I love that area so much!

  10. Oh yes!!! You guys most definitely should head to Europe!! We're planning London and Paris in the summer and I'm so looking forward to it. We started the 52 week savings at the start of the year and even though it's going until the end of the year - we might take some of that towards our trip...we also agreed on a set amount to put aside for the trip each month...Spain & Greece have been two of my most memorable and favorite locations!!

  11. Ok...obviously, I'm going to tell you to go to Greece until my face turns blue, but NYC is amazing as well. It's obviously much less expensive, and a 3-4 day get away is just enough to get your fix. LOVE it! I lived there for two summers when I went to SAB, but I was too young to appreciate where I really was. I was 12 and 13...so it was kind of wasted. I've been back a few other times, and it is seriously... THE BEST! Go this Spring or Summer!
