Weekend

Friday night Theo and I went to see Non-Stop with the gorgeous Liam Neeson.

Ok, Yes, I think Liam Neeson is hot. I always have. I don't care that he could be my dad either. As for the movie it was good. Not great great, but good. Worth seeing I think. It's a mystery with kind of a twist at the end.

Saturday I met Cait and Shelby for brunch at Virginia's on King.

I got the Fried Green Tomato BLT. It was delicious. The other girls said their meals were good too.

After brunch, Cait and I went shopping on King Street. If you ever come to visit Charleston, make sure you make a stop on King St. We don't have great malls here so King St. is our best place for shopping. So many neat little boutiques. I actually got a new bra from Bits of Lace and found out I was majorly wearing the wrong size! I came home and tried on a bunch of my tops with my new bra and what a difference it made. It's like they just fit better now, and it's all because I was wearing the wrong size bra!

Saturday night we laid low and ordered pizza, watched New Girl, and hung out with this little nugget.

Sunday night Theo's mom came over and we watched the Oscar's (Leo was robbed!), and made these yummy Homemade Big Mac's.

Theo for some reasons loves Big Mac's. Whenever we're driving home from being out drinking he always wants a Big Mac. I'm always the one to say "NO!" because they're nasty! I doubt Mc. D's even uses real beef! When I saw this recipe on Pinterest I knew we had to make them for my Big Mac obsessed husband. The sauce was super easy to make and luckily we had everything at our house except French dressing. We assembled the burgers the "Big Mac Way". Even Theo said they were better than Mc. Donald's and we'll be making these again. I think I converted him from a nasty Mc. Donald's Big Mac Lover to a home cooked Big Mac Lover!

  1. Ah, I loved Leo's performance (that scene on the stairs????) but I have to disagree -- I think MM totally deserved the statue :) Um, that homemade Big Mac is making my stomach rumble. I do agree with you that they're gross from McDs, but that sauce is pretty yummy!

I'm with you on thinking Liam Neeson is hot - and who would have thought he would be an action star? The sauce totally makes the big mac delicious - i'll totally be trying this!

  10. Gah, still dreaming about brunch. So fun! Getting sized for a bra is something I should totally (but am scared to) do hah. My friend had never had a Big Mac till we went to Italy for 3 weeks and we were craving meat so much she tried one. Now every time she's hungover she makes her husband take her to Mc D's for one hah. Your version looks awesome!

  11. Omg my husband would LOVE these homemade Big Mac's! McDonalds is always our late night stop too and he has been known to order like 3 burgers.. and eat them all. The Oscar's were so great last night but I think MM deserved that award! I love Leo but I don't think he's going to win until he really goes out of his comfort zone.. he seems to play the same characters, just different movies!

  13. That Big Mac looks AMAZING! I really want to try that out. I'm also kind of wanting to see Non-Stop too. Maybe a RedBox rental?

I watched the preview show of Southern Charm (which I know you're probably not a fan of). I need to go back and read what you said about it. So far, they seem pretty ridiculous...especially the ex-treasurer.

  17. Virginia on King's is by far my favorite place to stop and eat anytime I'm in the Charleston area! Their shrimp and grits are the best :-)

  19. Love that you made homemade Big Macs! Probably 100x healthier than McD's even though they are burgers w/ cheese and mayo ;) I love Liam Neeson too!! I think he has, hands down, the best voice EVER. ;)
