Splurge vs Save Campaign

Erin from Credit Card Insider contacted me and asked if I'd like to do a post on an item that I would maybe splurge on and show an item that is identical but for far less of a price. Of course I said YES! because I love to shop way too much and finding a good deal is my favorite thing to do.

I have been obsessed with the Chloe Marcie Satchel for as long as I can remember.

I mean look how cute it looks hanging on your arm

I'll tell you why Beth Behrs is smiling, because she's got a Chloe Marcie bag on her arm.

It comes in a few different styles and sizes. Miranda's is the Medium Marcie Hobo. I love how you can wear this one cross body.

I know I'll probably never in a million years own one of these bags. I swear every time I look online the price goes up! But a girl can dream and hope to win the lottery one day right?!

Well my dream may come true (sort of). The other day I was in Target killing time and was stopped in my tracks when I saw this Marcie bag look alike!

Now I know it's not identical but pretty similar looking. And you can't beat the $1855.01 price difference (that's not an exaggeration). Plus it's a cute bag anyways. I love the brown color and how you could use it with any season.

Thanks for asking me to participate Credit Card Insider! Happy (bargain) shopping!

  3. Wow that is SO crazy how much those bags are!! That's such a great option from Target!! Love the crossbody and color. If you find a "Steal" item for a Celine bag, holler! haha

  5. Ugh that Chloe bag is so gorgeous! The Target one is an awesome save though! Definitely way better than spending that much on the Chloe version (unless you happen to win the lotto and then why not?) :)

  8. Verrrrrrrrrrrry Nice! I used to have a Chloe bag (not the one you have here, though) and recently sold it and some other $$$ stuff on ebay to buy a fancy dancy camera. I got the Chloe second-hand to begin with. I laughed out loud when you said "I will tell you why Beth is so happy... she has a Chloe bag!" :)

  11. The Chloe bag really is gorgeous - and for sure that's why old Beth is smirking about it ha. I say use what you'd spend on another purse each time you see a cute one, add it to a Chloe fund instead, and save up for the real deal!

  14. The Chloe Marcie hobo has been on my lust list for years... there was this one time that I almost bought one that was on a Rue La La sale for $1300 but I was pretty sure I would end up with a divorce so I didn't.
