I've made these two desserts recently and they are extremely easy but super delicious so I decided to share them you all!
The first one was the cake I made for my brother's birthday.
Don't laugh. I had to put icing on it quickly and then it started melting before we ate it. But I can assure it was delicious.
{Peanut Butter Cup Cake}
Ingredients
1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix and ingredients called for on package instructions
1/4 cup of water
10 peanut butter cups, quartered
1 (12 ounce) tub cream cheese frosting
Whole peanut butter cups for garnish
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour cake pan. I used a bundt pan. Set aside.
Combine cake mix and all ingredients called for on the box as instructed, and add an extra 1/4 cup of water.
Fold in the candy chunks. Turn batter into prepared cake pan and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove cake from heat and allow to cool 15 minutes before turning out onto serving platter.
Frost cake and garnish with whole peanut butter cups. Consider using the candies as a base for birthday candles.
The only issue I had was the peanut butter cups all fell to the bottom of the cake. You could still taste them in the cake they just weren't all throughout the cake. I've heard you should flour them before adding them to the cake so I'll try that next time. Other than that this was easy and tasty especially if you love chocolate and peanut butter like me.
The second dessert is Banana Pudding which I assumed everyone had had before. I guess it really is just a Southern thing. If you've grown up eating Banana Pudding then you know how good it is. If you haven't then you should try this easy recipe. It's such a crowd pleaser. I just had to throw the rest of ours out or else I'd be living off of it for days. This really is an easy recipe because it requires no cooking! Normally you'd have to make the vanilla pudding but not with this recipe. Banana pudding is a staple at cook outs. It would be great for 4th of July parties!
{Uncooked Banana Pudding}
Ingredients
8 ounces sour cream
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 cups whole milk I used almond milk
1 (16 ounce) package vanilla wafers
4 bananas, peeled and sliced
Recipe
In a large bowl combine sour cream, whipped topping, pudding mix, and milk. Stir well. In the bottom of a trifle bowl or other glass serving dish, put a layer of cookies, then a layer of pudding mixture, then a layer of bananas. Repeat until all ingredients are used. Refrigerate until serving.
There you have it, two easy but still yummy desserts!
My husband will love you for the banana recipe :)
