Life Lately

It's been a busy few weeks for Theo and I! I enjoy being busy and traveling but it is nice to be back to the normal grind. Poor Theo told me yesterday he's depressed because we have nothing to look forward to anymore. He reminded me of a kid after Christmas. I told him to remember my birthday is on Wednesday so that's a big thing to look forward to. I got the impression he isn't as excited about it as I am!

This past weekend we had some of my family in town staying at our house. They wanted to do typical Charleston tourist things so we took them to Middleton Place on Saturday

 and Fort Sumter that afternoon.

What's pathetic is I've lived here my whole life and have never been to either one of those places! It's just different when you live somewhere, you never do the normal sightseeing tourists do.

Sunday we went walking along The Battery and hit up King Street for some shopping.

Since my cousins are from Sweden we decided to check out Welcome to Sweden.

It's a new show on NBC written by and starring Amy Poehler's brother Greg Poehler. It's based off Greg's real life and how he married a Swedish woman and had to learn the culture. We all really liked it. Of course the girls and their dad loved it more because they are Swedish but even as an American watching it I thought it was cute. We watched the first episode On Demand and ordered the second one on Google Play.

After reading this article on the 22 Worst Foods You Could Possibly Put in Your Body, I got me really interested in trying to eat more "clean". It's so disgusting how processed our food really is. You think you're doing good by eating spinach salads or salmon, but unless that spinach is organic or that salmon is wild you could be ingesting pesticides and barely getting any nutrients. I've started eating only Ezekiel Bread because unfortunately plain old wheat bread from Costco is heavily processed. I don't want go off on a tangent but it really irks me to think that majority of the stuff we put in our mouths is made in a lab also known as GMO. Foodbabe has quickly become my BFF and my go to for making sure I'm eating the right things. Check out this post she wrote about what's hiding in Trader Joe's food. It's not as healthy as you think. The big thing to do is to always read ingredients. If you can't pronounce it, or if it has tons of ingredients, it's
probably not too good for you.

Have a good Tuesday!
