This past weekend was all about the food. Friday night we had burgers with blue cheese and grilled corn. Of course I don't have a picture because I ate it too fast!
Saturday Theo and I went to Asheville, NC's famous White Duck Taco. They just opened one here in Charleston. I got the mushroom potato taco and gazpacho.
It was delicious. I'd love to try to make my own gazpacho, it's so light and refreshing. If anyone knows of a good recipe let me know!
Saturday night we headed to our friend's house for homemade pizzas. I made a super easy and delicious appetizer.
All you need is phyllo mini shells, pimento cheese, and red pepper jelly. You stuff pimento cheese ( I love Palmetto Pimento Cheese) in each shell and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Once finished baking, put a dollop of red pepper jelly on each shell. They were gone in seconds. SO good! I promise you'll be invited to every party if you start bringing these.
Our friend's Allison and Mark own Glazed a gourmet doughnut shop here we had tons of yummy doughnuts for dessert.
Allison also made a Banana Foster's Crepe Cake.
Seriously it may be the best dessert I've ever had. It has 35 layers! That's some dedication.
I've eaten dinner there before but never brunch and it was amazing. We all three loved our meals.
Sunday night we always go over to my parent's house for dinner but this week we decided to do dinner at our house. I made the always a crowd pleaser Honey Lime Enchiladas and a Garden Rice Salad.
The recipe for the salad is coming later this week!
Wow after typing all this I realized I probably ate my weight in food this weekend. I need to do some clean eating this week!
Have a great Monday!
