Weekend

Friday night we headed to the Freehouse Brewery after work. Freehouse is a fairly new brewery and they only brew organic beer. They currently only have one beer available for sale at stores so I was dying to try their other beers.

It's kind of a hole in the wall but it's located on the Ashley River so there's a great view. I actually really liked the place.

It's Charleston Beer Week so a ton of breweries and restaurants are having events.

It's also Charleston Restaurant Week (I know, why have both the same week?) so Saturday night I went to dinner at Basico in the Mixson area for the first time. Mixson is a new deveopment with really cute houses and a few restaurants and shops. I felt like I was in a little fake town walking around Mixson. It backs right up to Rivers Avenue and if you know Charleston at all, it isn't the best area but they're obviously trying to make it better.

If I was single, Mixson would be the place to live. Back to dinner, I had the Baby Octopus Confit as my meal. It was really good but once I got home I couldn't help think of the tentacles I ate. Kind of grossed me out, so I may stay away from octopus again!

I was so happy to hear the super cute Royal Family is expecting again! I hope it's a girl!

On a sad night, I was heart broken to hear about Joan Rivers. My mom and I literally had a conversation about her for close to an hour on Saturday. I really only remember her from Fashion Police but my mom obviously remembers more. It's just sad that all she went in for was an elective procedure. I guess you just never know.

I've been participating in East Coast Chic's 30 Day Closet Remix on Instagram. You can follow me @allyharding15. I haven't been documenting every single day, one because I wear the same color scrubs for 3 days of the week and two because I'm usually rushing out the door! As much as I love to shop, it's made me realize I'm so blessed and have more than enough of clothes. I think, and especially as bloggers, we tend to always want more. We want the outfit that so and so posted on their blog, because if she can have it so can I. It's ridiculous how easy it is to buy stuff online. Now that there's free shipping and returns, you have the mindset if it doesn't fit I can always return it. Taking a break from shopping is always a good idea.

Have a great Monday!

  2. I swear all your weekend posts have me wishing I lived in Charleston and Mixson sounds like a great new neighborhood - we have a few of those they are trying to "re-gentrify" if you will! I was oddly excited to hear about the royal baby news - and hope it's a girl too! Have a great Monday!

  4. I am SO excited about a new royal baby!! Hoping it's a girl, too! And I still can't believe Joan is gone. She seemed like one of those people that are just immortal. Fashion Police will definitely not be the same without her!

  13. That looks yummy but small portions....sometimes that makes me irrationally angry hahaha. I have really trying to be good with spending especially since everything i buy will have to be packed up in a few months. It has forced me to do some shopping in my own closet.....
