Of all the many, many projects I want to do around my house, finding a Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree is at the top. I think the tree would look awesome in my dining room to take up space and add height plus they're great for purifying air. They're so big, they're like adding a piece of furniture to a room.
I almost got way ahead of myself this weekend and bought a basket to put my nonexistent tree in. Anyone ever owned a Fiddle Leaf Fig? Are they easy to maintain? Before I spend some $$ I want to see what I'm getting myself into first. I definitely don't have a green thumb.
I love them too but I've heard they can be a little finicky- I'm horrible with plants so they make me nervous!
ReplyDeleteI love that you almost bought a basket to house this tree in!!! I love the look of it!
ReplyDeletei love those trees!! h is great about taking care of our plants.. i was in charge of the basil at our old place and it didnt last long. whomp whomp. xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI ordered a smaller fiddle fig from Home Depot and it's been great! It was pretty cheap too, so in case it doesn't last it's not a big hit to the wallet. If you do order one, my only tips are to put it in indirect sunlight and only water it every couple weeks. Mine always seems to do better when I ignore it.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of one of these trees! Those look huge for indoors! I would be worried about killing it too with my record on plants. haha
ReplyDeleteMy mom has 2 fiddle lead figs and I love the way they add color to a room. They’re beautiful once they get big! If you make a trip to Atlanta or Charlotte stop in ikea, they have them for much cheaper there!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of these before, but they are gorgeous- love greenery inside!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of these before but they're so cute! Love the idea!

Hahaha, you bought a basket for your non-existent fiddle leaf! So funny. I've wanted one of these forever too, but honestly I don't even know where to find one for a good price. I should do a search because I have the corner to put one in.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of these. What about a good artificial one? Like, silk good - then it can't die ;)
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the looks of these and think they can add so much to a room, but I've heard some people say they are easy to keep up and others say they are hard. I would start by buying a smaller one from Lowe's or Home Depot. I almost grabbed one from their one day, but I really didn't have a way to get it home!!!
ReplyDeleteI think they are so beautiful - you should definitely try it!! They add so much to the room, like you said. I'm sure you can handle it!!

Those trees are awesome. I too have thought about getting one, but I'd probably kill it. I'm the worst!
