Weekend

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
This weekend we went to Atlanta to celebrate my brother in law's 40th birthday. My brother in law and his wife just got their patio finished so it was a great excuse to throw party. We love going to Atlanta because we get to see our nephews and niece.
This picture of Theo and our nephew Luke melts my heart. They love their Uncle "Feo".

Friday the guys golfed so my sister and law and I took the kids to an animal/nature festival. The kids had an awesome time, they had lots of crafts for them to do and they got to dissect owl pellets.

I'm obsessed with my sister in law Nicole's new purse. I know people think I'm crazy but I've always wanted the LV Neverfull bag as my diaper bag, but I think this Gucci bag may be it. No I'm not pregnant just getting prepared, totally normal right?! The bag is covered in canvas rather than cloth so anything you get on it just wipes away. See it would be a perfect diaper bag! When I told her that she looked at me like I was insane.

Saturday was spent setting up for the party. I made my favorite appetizer. Just pimento cheese in phyllo cups, bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes then top with red pepper jelly. People were popping them in their mouths like candy.

We had a great spread with appetizers, bbq pulled pork, pork chops, bbq chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, you know typical Southern cuisine.

We came back Sunday and saw this gorgeous sunset reflecting on the water on our way home.

We didn't get home till after 7 so we quickly whipped up some Chicken and Bacon Paninis and homemade Cauliflower soup. The soup recipe is from Skinnytaste and it's so easy. Only 5 ingredients and ready in 20 minutes. It was hearty, delicious and perfect for the cooler weather.

Have a great Monday!

  7. That bag is gorgeous and does sound a lot more practical for spills (because they happen often with babies & kids). The party spread looks delicious! I've yet to taste a skinny taste recipe that I don't love and the soup looks delicious!
