Weekend

Monday, we meet again! I had a great weekend even though I was on call Saturday and Sunday. With my new job I have to take weekend call, which means if we have an emergent surgery I have to go in, about every 7 weeks or so. It sucks when you're on call, but it also means I get every other weekend off. Like I always say, there's no perfect schedule in healthcare. Anyways, Friday after we got off work we headed to Freehouse Brewery with some of our friends. If you live in Charleston you've got to go to Freehouse. It's in North Charleston right off of Cosgrove but it has the most gorgeous view since it's on the Ashley River.

We then headed to dinner at EVO Pizza with my parents. Another one of my favorite spots. They use all local ingredients and their pizza is good, like REALLY good.

My mom and I got the Bacon and Pumpkin pizza and the guys got the Pork Trifecta.

Saturday Theo signed he and Pixie up for an all day Agility Seminar. And I mean all day, 8-5:30. I felt so sorry for the dogs, that's a long day! I wasn't able to be there all day but he said towards the end of it Pixie just layed in the ground and wouldn't move. Poor thing was tired! And she was too, she came home and passed out.

Here's a video of Theo and Pixie in her agility class on Thursdays. I wasn't able to get any videos on Saturday but this will give you an idea of how agility works.

Saturday night we went over to Theo's aunt and uncle's house to watch the USC game. His aunt always decorates for any holiday so she had tons of cute Halloween stuff laid out. I loved these spider deviled eggs.

I also tried Almond Champagne for the first time. For being a sweeter champagne it was delicious. I think a few glasses and you're done because it is so sweet.

We came home Saturday and found this on our doorsteps. We were Boo-ed! Our neighborhood does this every year and we always look forward to it. I'm getting my Boo together today so I can Boo someone tonight!

Sunday I got called into work bright and early but treated myself to a Blend juice and a Nicole's Nuttygoodness Bar on my way in. I love buying Nicole's when I see them because they're made here in Charleston on John's Island.

Once I was done with work with I came home and started reading What Alice Forgot. It's by the same author as The Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies. Alice awakes from falling at the gym and thinks it's 1998 when it's really 2008. I love books like this where she has to put the pieces together. A similar book I read a long time ago was Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella.

How was your weekend?

  13. So pumped for Evo in a few weeks! I love watching Theo in serious dog trainer mode - no wonder pup was worn out after a day all of that exercise ha. So, I totally fell off reading What Alice Forgot and started something new. Let me know if you finish it!
