A Few of My Favorite Things

I wanted to a share a few of my newest obsessions. I'd love to hear some of yours too!

Favorite Website: Mind Body Green

I'm not really sure how I came upon this website but it quickly became one of my favorites to read everyday. Mind Body Green is a website with tons of articles from recipes to ways to live your life better to work out tips. I get an email daily with 6 new articles and they're always informative.

Favorite Body Wash: Deep Steep

I was looking for a new body wash to try at Whole Foods and I came across the Deep Steep line. They're made on Johns Island, SC and I love to support local brands so I picked up a bottle. Their line is all natural, organic, paraben free, sodium lauryl sulfate free, not tested on animals, and no artificial fragrances or chemical preservatives. It's amazing what junk is in our skin care and since your skin is your largest organ I prefer to buy products with little to no chemicals. So how is the body wash you ask? It's great, it lathers well, smells good, and leaves your skin soft. I plan on picking up some more of their products on my next trip!

Favorite Hand Lotion: Weleda Skin Food

My hands get so dry in the winter. I'm talking mini cuts all over my hands, hang nails. and just sandpaper feeling hands. Being a nurse I wash my hands and use sanitizer non stop so obviously that doesn't help. I started using Skin Food on my hands right before going to bed and now I carry it around the house with me. It's a thick cream that feels greasy at first but dries in minutes. I don't mind it being greasy because it takes away my rough feeling hands. It has a light clean fragrant that I really like. You can use this all over your body even your face. It's organic and has zero chemical ingredients.

Favorite Face Oil: Acure 100% Organic Argan Oil

I picked up a bottle of this after I ran out of my Beautycounter face oil. I've become addicted to face oils and needed a new bottle stat. This was recommended to me at Whole Foods and I was kind of skeptical since I always thought to use Argan Oil in your hair. I read reviews and they were all great and I have to say I'm hooked now too. I've noticed such a difference in my skin since using it. I have a more even skin tone and my acne scars and blemishes are disappearing.   It's a small bottle but you could also use it in your hair, all over your body, and on your face.

Favorite Panties: Hanky Panky

After buying Victoria's Secret underwear for years and realizing it's crap, I decided to grit my teeth and buy a few pairs of Hanky Panky panties. I think $20+ for underwear is a little steep but if it holds up well and feels comfortable it may be worth it. Their panties come one size fits all which kind of weirded me out but man are they comfy. Since they aren't cheap, it's best to stock up when they're on sale. I got mine from Saks off 5th at an already discounted rate, along with buy 2 get 1 free.

Favorite TV Show: The Affair

Shelby recommended this show to me and it sounded so good I told Theo to order Showtime just so we can watch it. It didn't disappoint, in fact we both like it a lot. The show is about 2 people having an affair but it's different than your typical affair story. Each episode shows the 2 character's view of their relationship. It's really really good and if you have Showtime you must watch it, if you don't then order it!

I've started drinking Detox tea every night before bed and I really do think it makes a difference. If anything it debloats (think flat stomach) and gets rid of that extra water your body is holding onto. It's caffeine free so it doesn't mess with my sleeping. I think the tea tastes fine on it's own but I do add lemon juice to it as an additional diuretic. I've found this tea at health food stores and also regular grocery stores.

  1. I started using Aragon oil on my skin too and I love it. I was so worried it'd make me super oily but it really doesn't. I'm definitely going to have to check out that Weleda stuff. My hands get so dry in the winter!

  8. I so agree with Victorias Secret being crap - they are so pretty but just don't hold up very long! I get a lot of mine from Aerie, which seem to last a lot longer for me! Loved seeing your list!
