Friday Round Up

by Ally- Life as I know it, 7:00 AM
Happy Friday friends! Here's what's been going down this week:

~We were supposed to be heading to Asheville right this minute for our 2nd anniversary but decided not to go. At the first the weather was going to be bad but when it came down to it we didn't feel like traveling again. That's the only issue with your anniversary in December, there's just so much going on. So instead we're going out to dinner Saturday. My plan is to wear my rehearsal dinner dress to dinner. I wanted to start that as a tradition but fell through last year.

~Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, has his own Christmas album out and his voice is really good. I've always kind of found him attractive in a weird way, it's that mischievous smile he has I think, so he's double attractive now that I know he can sing.

~I had lunch at the cutest spot this week, Livelihood Cafe in West Ashley. I pass the place almost everyday and always tell Theo I want to eat there. He actually had their breakfast last week and said it was amazing. The lunch was delicious and the owner said they try to use only local ingredients, winner.

~I've been trying to drink a Suja juice daily for the health benefits but also because it makes me feel good. Obviously if you make fresh juice it's better but these are pretty darn close since they're cold pressed rather than pasteurized (like Naked juices, don't drink those) which kills all the good stuff. I have a juicer but honestly juicing is expense because you have to use so much of one thing to get a decent amount. So I've found spending $3.99 for a juice a day works. They're really good too and luckily Target now sells them and so does Publix. I always seem to find them on sale for $2.99 or BOGO. My favorites are Mighty Greens and Green Delight.

~I picked up these earrings last weekend from Loft and now I'm obsessed with them. I think they're edgy yet fancy at the same time.

~I think I may of found the solution to cellulite. Ok so maybe not the solution, but a reducer. I've been using my dry brush for a few months now all over my body about 2-3 times a week and I swear it has made a difference in my cellulite. I'm not showing a picture because that's just gross but take my word for it. I was looking in the mirror the other day and thought it was gone! Then I looked a little closer, and nope it's still there but a lot less! I use my dry brush before I shower and make sure to rub extra hard in my cottage cheese areas. I bought mine from Amazon but I've seen them sold at Whole Foods and Earthfare. Here's a really good article on the benefits of dry brushing and how it really does reduce cellulite, there's before and after pictures too.

~If you're looking for a quick weeknight dinner pick up a bag of Bear Creek Darn Good Chili Mix and dinner is served in 20 minutes. We've been buying this stuff for years but had it the other night and I forgot how good it was. We like to add cooked beef or turkey meat to it but it's actually very good on it's own. Bear Creek makes a ton of other soup mixes and they're all good. You can find them at any grocery store in the soup section.

That's all folks, have a great weekend!

  7. Oooh I will have to check out Livelihood - sounds great! And I had no idea Seth MacFarlane had a Christmas album out! He cracked me up and did have a pretty good voice at the Oscars. Also, yes, he is somehow strangely attractive.

  13. Okay I totally think Seth Macfarlane is cute too. I have a thing for funny guys, so there's a definite crush there! You've talked about the brushing before and I told myself then I wanted to try it. Since you're really seeing results I'm definitely going to read about and try it for real this time!
