I don't plan on changing my diet to the max but I am trying to incorporate more alkaline foods in my life. Drinking warm water with lemon when you first wake up is one of the best things you can do to get rid of toxins in your body.
I've been drinking this almost daily for a few months now and I feel so much more awake and just overall healthy after drinking it. Whether it really does anything I don't know, but it doesn't hurt. I know it seems weird to drink something so acidic like lemon but once inside the body it becomes alkaline.

Other alkaline foods:
Isn't it interesting to see the foods that are acidic versus the healthier alkaline foods. More of a reason to eat less junk and more real. I had a coworker tell me the other day she's going to start testing the pH in her urine because she's trying to become more alkaline in hopes it'll help her psoriasis. I don't think I'm going to become that crazy but I am going to make more a conscious effort to eat more alkaline foods.
Would you ever become more "alkaline" if you knew it would stop a disease progression? Or do you think it's just a new fad diet?

Wow that's really interesting. I never had any idea about the benefits of drinking lemon water, I might have to start trying that! I don't know if I could jump on board with the whole diet but I can definitely do the water thing! Hope it helps for you!

ReplyDeleteI say go for it. A friend of ours was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, and basically did what you said and DRASTICALLY changed his diet - only clean foods, no meats and he is cancer free now. No chemo, radiation or anything - just diet. It's amazing! The thing is like you said, even if it doesn't work - it can't hurt and it's still good for you!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree to just go for it. It doesn't hurt anything and how amazing would it be to be cured from a disease just based on diet changes?! It's crazy, I just don't understand why all of this crap is in our food to begin with!
ReplyDeleteI think i say this everytime you mention it, but I really need to start drinking warm water with lemon when I wake up!! It's amazing what that doctor was able to do with changing her diet!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have an alkaline water machine, we've had it a few years now. It's expensive but my parents used to sell them after experiencing and seeing so many health benefits in others too, so they gave us one. We love it. We both drink a ton of water and are kind of picky with water, I know it's kind of weird haha. Lately I've been adding lemon essential oil to my water and hot tea as well. Total believer in the benefits of being more "alkaline".
ReplyDeleteGreat post with lots of great information! My new year's resolution is to drink more lemon water! I did a post on it... check it out:

ReplyDeletei've heard of these lemon water perks.. i need to get on this train!
ReplyDeleteI have definitely heard and believe in being more alkaline. I keep trying to incorporate the warm lemon water in the mornings but sometimes forget. I love your explanation of the post and what being alkaline means and I hope to continue to keep it in the back of my mind. I still believe my Dad's cancer was caused from diet and stress. I think it can make a big different.
