Friday Round Up + A Week of Meals

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
This weekend couldn't have come fast enough! I'm super excited about candle making and brunch tomorrow with my favorite Charleston bloggers. We've finally decided to redo our bedroom so I'm going mattress shopping this weekend. Theo gave me the OK to start looking for a new bed and furniture and I've already picked out the duvet cover. Our bedroom was my least favorite room in the house so I can't wait to be able to decorate it the way I want. I think we're all, Pixie included, excited about finally having a King Size bed. We're doing this on a major budget but here's the look I'm going for. All white and simple with a grey bed and furniture.

~I started reading Still Alice this week and can't put it down. I have the hardest time finishing books so fingers crossed this one doesn't lose my attention. Julianne Moore just won a Golden Globe for her role in the movie version. I'm hoping to have it finished before the movie comes to theaters. Unfortunately Kristen Stewart is in the movie as well, I really can't stand her and her horrible acting.

~We watched Boyhood this week and it was excellent. It was long, almost 3 hours, but really good. It's not a typical movie, there's no climax, it's just about a young boy growing up from 6 years old to 18 years old. It was filmed over 12 years too so you kind of watch him grow up before your eyes. It's such a cool concept for a movie but can you imagine filming the same movie for 12 years?!

~Cuyana has a new Shimmer Leather Tote that's gorgeous for summer. I couldn't find a picture but it looks awesome with a monogram.

Love their bags. I've had my Cuyana bag for over a year and it's held up so well. I mean between being on my arm 24/7, getting thrown in my car constantly, and stuffing it to the brim, it still looks brand new.

~Week 2 of healthy gluten free, dairy free weeknight meals was a success! Here's what we had:

Monday

Tuesday
Chicken Sausage and Kale Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
recipe adapted from PaleOMG

Wednesday
Crispy Smashed Chicken with Spicy Pineapple Salsa and Broccoli

Thursday
Zucchini Zoodles with Meatballs

Have a great weekend!

  17. We're also re-doing our master bedroom and I am having the hardest time making decisions! I did finally buy a headboard and new bedside tables, but deciding on lamps is probably going to be the hardest part. Can't wait to see your finished product!
