Weekend

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
How was everyone's weekend? Hopefully you're off today for MLK Day and are enjoying your 3 day weekend. I'm off but not because the hospital is closed, you know that will never happen, just wasn't scheduled to work today and I'm not complaining! We had a great weekend, it was low key and relaxing.

Friday we watched the weirdest movie you guys, Predestination. It's actually in theaters as well but for some reason you can watch it On Demand and Google Play. It's about time travel which is already hard to comprehend because it just doesn't make sense. But then it got weird with kinda sorta incest/having sex with yourself, yah weird. It was only 1 hour and 38 minutes so I could handle it till the end but don't know if I'd recommend it. It got a 7.4/10 on IMDB so I guess someone liked it.

Saturday I went to brunch and a candlemaking class at Candlefish with my friends Shelby, Jillian and Cait. It's such a fun thing to do and so cool that you get to make your own candles. If you're ever visiting Charleston I recommend taking a class at Candelfish. Or at least stop in, it's a really neat store.

I was oh so wrong about my original opinion of Parks and Rec. It's so hilarious and we can't stop watching. It just keeps getting better with each episode. If you're looking for a good show to watch, seriously watch Parks and Rec

On a side note did you guys catch Gwyneth Paltrow's interview on Howard Stern? I'm going to embarrass myself and admit I listened to the hour long interview online. I've always really liked her so I was interested in hearing what she had to say. Howard is really good about getting people to open up and Gwyneth was no exception. I loved hearing about her relationships with Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck. I'm a sucker for behind the scenes scoop. You can read highlights of the interview here.

Love this quote. I'm such a worrier about things I have no control over and all it does is take away from me living in the moment.

  2. The candle making looks like so much fun every time you guys go!! I have read snippets from the interview she had, but not the whole thing!! I thought what she said about her parents being heart broken when things were over with her and brad pitt was really interesting and not with ben afflek lol!! Happy Monday!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  8. Loved that Gweny inteview. Sounds like Be Affleck was a real wild child back in the day. But you could have guessed since he cheat on JLo with a stripper. Parks and Rec is soooo funny and I think better than The Office. Andy and Ron are my favorites!

  11. Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere! I have to remind my sister of this all the time! She is such a chronic worry wart that she gets terrible anxiety! I listened to snippets of the Gwen interview and I thought it was really interesting what she had to say about Brad Pitt and Ben Afflect. Just shows that even Gwen can be a real person (however Goop is a crock)!
