Weekend

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
This weekend went by way too fast. Especially since I had to work Friday and now Monday, I don't know how you 5 day work week people do it! It was pretty cold and rainy all weekend but Sunday ended up being a gorgeous day.

I started my weekend off reading some awful, sad, depressing news. Piperlime is closing in April!

It was always one of my favorite websites to shop because they sell high end and lower end but still great quality clothes. All I know is Piperlime better have an awesome sale to get rid of all of their clothes!

I caught up on some serious reading on Saturday.

I can't recommend the tea I'm drinking enough. It's an Organic Roasted Dandelion Tea and it detoxes your liver and helps with digestion. I drink it after I eat and it really does debloat and keeps everything moving if you catch my drift. If you're a coffee drinker it's a great replacement, if you let the tea bag sit in the hot water for over 15 minutes it tastes a lot like coffee.

We went to dinner with my parents Saturday night at Rita's on Folly Beach. It was my first eating there since Hall's Chophouse took over. We had the infamous Tuna Nachos and they were pretty amazing. I never thought tuna would be good on nachos but I was wrong!

Obsessed with my Sabine Vest. Get it before Piperlime closes!

Suja came out with a new probiotic drink and I love it. It has almond milk, strawberries, banana, apple, and 2 billion CFU of probiotics. It was super filling so it would be great as a breakfast drink. Which I think is what it's meant to be anyways. Look for them at Target, they had them 2 for $5 at my Target.

Sunday was spent at a dog show, a boat show, and meal planning and grocery shopping. Meal planning isn't exactly my favorite thing to do, it's time consuming and I'm procrastinator so I really don't want to do it, but it makes weeknights so much easier. We've started planning our meals then heading to the store to buy what we need on Sundays and it seems to be working pretty well. If we didn't plan our meals out we would probably eat pizza every night so it keeps us accountable to eat healthy meals.

While I was at the boat show on Sunday I started talking to a guy who was selling Alkaline Water filters. I've already been really interested in buying one but they're a big investment. He did all of these cool science experiments showing how alkaline water is better for you than normal water. He gave me a gallon of alkaline water to take home and see what I think. The water is so smooth and tastes so fresh. Bill Gates had 16 of these filters installed in his homes and his boats. I might just look into a water pitcher rather than an actual machine, BIG price difference.

I started writing in an online private journal in hopes it'll help with my anxiety and worrying. My anxiety isn't horrible but I tend to get one thing on my mind, usually my health, and can't stop thinking about it. I realize I sound like a crazy person worrying about stuff I have no control over so I figured it would be better to write it out in a journal than keeping it built up inside. I used to write in an online journal when I was in high school and it was very therapeutic and helped me get over my any issues I had with myself. It really did feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders as I was writing in it and that I could move on.

Thoughts for a good week:

  7. I feel you on meal planning- this is our third week of doing it (and sticking with it) and as much as I hate how much time it takes, it always makes the weeks so much better not having to come up with things to eat at the last minute. I keep hearing about alkaline water so I'll be interested to hear what you think about it after using up your gallon!

  8. Whoa....anxiety about health is one of my most debilitating "anxieties" that I have, and last night, after some bad health news for my cousin I just about lost it. Reading the Secret and the Magic have really helped me because it helps me get control of bad thoughts and focus on positive ones.

  20. You look so cute in the picture with your mom! Love your outfit!! I can totally relate to you about meal planning. We always keep a spare pizza on hand for the nights we don't feel like cooking. I like the idea of a private online journal. There are some things I would want to write about, but don't want to entire world to know. I need to look into this.
