Friday Round Up

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
TGIF! Some weeks feels like they're never going to end and this was one of them. We don't really have any plans this weekend, might head to Second Sunday on King St.  but besides that we'll be taking it day by day! What have you got planned this weekend?

~The Real Housewives of New York City started back this week and I felt like it was The Bethenny Show. Not complaining because I really do like her, just not as a talk show host, but she definitely got most of the camera time. Sonja is still delusional and really hard to like and I kind of feel bad for Ramona. I was shocked with how honest she was about her separation and that Mario cheated. Looks like it's going to be a good season!

~Do you guys watch Southern Charm? Ugh it makes me cringe. I thought the first season was bad but this season sucks too. And what is up with Kathryn's hair? Every time she wears it up I can't help but think of Mrs. Claus from this Christmas movie I used to watch when I was little.

Twins right?! It really ages her. Since I've lived in Charleston my whole life it just makes me laugh whenever I watch the show. I don't even know why I watch it. I think I like to see the different places they go on the show. Honestly I think it's boring though. The whole Thomas/Kathryn thing needs to end and it really annoys me how none of those people work. It's just a really bad representation of Charleston in my opinion.

~My sweet husband surprised me this week with a Snoogle.
I'm not having to stop sleeping on my back just yet but I've been sleeping like crap lately. I was hoping the pillow would help, and I think it will once I get bigger. Right now I still want to enjoy sleeping on my back! Someone suggested I should start meditating to help with anxiety and relaxation and I actually do think meditation works. I did a lot of it from the app Headspace when we were trying to get pregnant to calm my nerves and it's amazing how 10 minutes of zoning out really makes a difference. I'm going to start doing it again and let y'all know if it helps with my sleep!

~I love the website Mind Body Green. They always have the most informative articles about anything you can imagine. I came across this article on 10 Truths About Stress and Pregnancy and I think it was written for me (well me and everyone else who's expecting). Especially the part about anxiety and depression. I find myself feeling sad sometimes because I have zero energy, poor Theo ends up staying up late by himself, I never want to do anything, and food grosses me out still. I haven't had a decent vegetable in 3 months. I know it's all for a wonderful reason but it's hard when your life changes so quickly and you feel like you're missing out on things plus you go to bed at 8:30. I'm just hoping for this 2nd trimester honeymoon to hurry up!

~I've had Strawberry Shortcake on my brain since seeing someone eating it at work this week. I was really kicking myself for not getting some myself! I found this recipe on Pinterest that I think I'm going to make for our weekly dinner at my parent's house on Sunday. Looks so easy and delish!

Have a good weekend!

  1. OMG I can't even deal with Kathryn. She totally does look like Mrs. Claus with her hair up like that, it's ridiculous! And what's with the bright purple eye shadow too? She has turned so crazy... oh wait... she always was. Who walks out on their child like that? Ugh. Sorry, a bit of a rant there haha! Happy Friday girl!

  3. Your energy level will get better, don't worry! The second trimester is the absolute best but it took me until about 16 weeks to get more active again. Good job on the prego pillow Theo! :) And I totally agree on the Southern Charm show, I haven't seen this season because its kind of pointless but I do like seeing Charleston on tv!

  4. I really wasn't into Bethenny's "homeless" story line. Girl has millions on millions, please cry about something else. Southern Charm is such a mess but I can't stop watching. Have a great weekend!

  6. I haven't watched RHONY in quite a few seasons but I did watch this first episode because I'm happy that Bethenny is back! However I don't feel bad about her being homeless, I mean come on. And as for Southern Charm - I do think Kathryn is really pretty but she has the WORST taste ever!!

  7. Woah, I have been TOTALLY out of blogland this week and haven't caught up on anything, so first - CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PREGNANCY!! So so so exciting :) I have never watched Southern Charm before, but I feel like I really need to start now that I'm living here. Also, that easy strawberry shortcake might make the menu this weekend :) Have a great one and maybe see you at Second Sunday!

  9. I know they say you shouldn't sleep on your back pregnant, but I didn't until I couldn't breathe anymore on it haha. I think in the 30s weeks. It was the only way I could get comfortable and my doctor said my body would let me know when it was time to stop!

  11. I am a little behind you at 9 and half weeks pregnant and could not agree with you more about the pregnancy issues!! Thank you for posting the 10 Truths article....between weeks 6 and 8 I felt horrible! I thought something was wrong with me as I couldn't get excited about the pregnancy (I mean come on...acne, nausea, FATIGUE, constipation...seriously!) I had actually been googling depression and pregnancy because I thought all women were elated as soon as they became pregnant! Then, last Sunday I woke up feeling like my normal self again! Come on second trimester! Thanks for the honest updates! :)
