Life Lately

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
So the most important news is we had our anatomy scan with the high risk doctor yesterday and everything looked perfect! The US tech kept telling us over and over how wonderful everything looked which made me feel so good. I was mainly worried about the baby's kidneys, which is the reason we went to the high risk doctor because I have Polycystic Kidney Disease, but so far they look normal. Doesn't mean we're out of the clear, the baby could develop cysts later on so I'll have to be scanned again around week 28, but for now we're all good! It's little heart looked normal and healthy too. I tell ya, for a worrier and obsessive Googler like myself, I've come across some bad stories on the internet so to hear and see that the baby is developing normal is such a relief! Already becoming a crazy mama!

I wrote a post last week about wearing white to a wedding and after reading everyone's responses I decided to nix the idea of white and go with black!

The dress is still making it's way to my house so I don't know if it fits true to size but I ordered my normal pre pregnancy size. It's made with jersey so it should be pretty stretchy. I decided I wanted to show off the teeny bump I have!

The bump on Sunday after stuffing my face with junk all day. It really is amazing how big it grows from when you first wake up till the end of the day!

My mom and I went to Janie and Jack this weekend and oh my gosh do they have cute baby clothes! It's totally my style, classic, no bright prints, and really well made. Luckily they had a ton of winter clothes on sale which is probably what the baby will be wearing once he's first born so I went to town.

I also couldn't say no to this cute thing for next spring/summer.

I met up with Stephanie, Caroline, and Cait on Saturday for lunch on Shem Creek. It was our first time meeting Caroline and Stephanie but we felt like we had known them for years. I just love all of the awesome people I've met through blogging.

We saw Pitch Perfect 2 last weekend and I wasn't a big fan. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the first one, but the second just didn't have the same effect. And I know this is nit picking it but it really annoyed me how the girls had their hair and makeup done all.the.time. I think that was the appeal of the first movie that they were kind of like misfits. Now they just look like supermodels. Sometimes I think making a sequel ruins movies, just stick with the first one. Anyone else see it? What did you think?

  4. So happy for a perfect A/S - and I love each outfit you grabbed for the baby! All of them are right up my alley too, and it's funny, I find myself staying far away from bright colors too. The simpler and more classic the better!

  8. Glad to hear baby H is doing fine!

I love baby clothes, they're so cute, so I try to not get too crazy.

Wow, how nice to meet bloggers in real life! I've made some new friends, but haven't met any in real life.

  9. So glad to hear everything is fine! I love when women show off their bump in tighter clothes as opposed to trying to hide it in loose fitting stuff. That dress is so nice!

  11. Glad to hear the scan went well!! They are so nerve wracking!! I have a genetic condition that pre-disposes me for increased blood clots during pregnancy....so every time I go in for an appt I convince myself there isn't going to be a heartbeat! Love the Janie and Jack clothes! That store is going to get me in trouble....I'm like you, I don't like the bright colors but prefer muted grays, blues, and creams! :)

  12. SO glad to hear the scan went well!! You know I'm a chronic worrier too so don't ever feel badly about worrying about your baby boy! (It's a mom thing that will never stop) I adore Janie and Jack. They have a few outlets so see if there is one close to you but also their clothes go on sale about every 3 weeks so if you like something, just keep checking back in the store until it goes on sale! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who didn't love PP2. The first one was so fabulous and this one seemed a bit more all over the place. Or maybe my expectations were too high? I'll watch it again once it comes on video to give it another chance but wouldn't want to go back to the theater to see it...
