Weekend + Gender Reveal!

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
On Saturday we got some exciting news! We waited all day to tell anyone the gender because our plan was to tell our moms on Mother's Day. We bought cookies in the shape of onesies and wrapped them in boxes.

And...

It's a boy!

Our little man. I swear he already looks just like Theo! Ok, a really warped, claymation/alien/is that really even a human? version of Theo.

I've gotta admit though, we already kinda sorta knew it was going to be a boy. The ultrasound tech at our 12 week visit hinted that because of the "nub" it was probably a boy, but could still be a girl. So from that moment on we just knew. I would have been totally shocked if they had said girl on Saturday. It's so weird for me to say this because anyone who knows me knows how bad I wanted a girl, but honestly I would be happy either way and am really looking forward to a little boy. I hear that they just love their Mama's and we already have one little girl (Pixie) in the house who loves her Daddy more than life so it's Mommy's turn! But at the end of the day, the gender doesn't matter as long as they are healthy. I just feel so fortunate to have this gift inside of me and everything has gone great so far.

He already got his first pair of little moccasins! One thing is for sure this boy will have lots of clothes!

The priest who married us gave us the sweetest book on Sunday. It's a prayer book for your unborn child. I have yet to open it because I know I'm just going to start bawling at the first word. I'm not going to pretend I'm the most religious person, I'm not at all, but once you see that little body moving around on the screen you start to look at life differently.

We had a delicious brunch on Mother's Day. I used to be the girl who always orders Eggs Benedict at brunch because I prefer savory over sweet but ever since getting pregnant all I crave are sweets. So I got Banana Bread French Toast, oh yah it was amazing.

We ended Sunday night at our house and cooked chicken and steak kabobs on the grill.
SO thankful for my wonderful mom! I couldn't have asked for a more loving, caring, always there for me and has the best words of encouragement for a mom and a best friend. We've only gotten closer as I've gotten older and I cherish our relationship so much. She's going to be the BEST grandmother to our baby boy.

We used this teriyaki sauce to marinate everything in the night before and the kabobs turned out so good. The steak and chicken were so tender. But the grilled pineapple was my favorite.
