Friday Round Up

Well I thought this week was going to be rough at work and it has. Add in the fact I'm 22 weeks pregnant and it made it even harder. But I survived and I'm off today. I keep reminding myself you have to get through the bad to appreciate the good. I'm just so happy to have my one day off, I'm on call all day Saturday so I can't even say I have the weekend off. I guess I kind of forgot the really BIG time off from work I have coming up when a co worker said "You have a break coming up!" And I said "YES! I'm off Friday!" She said "No your maternity leave!" Oh yah how could forget! I know y'all are sick of me complaining about work, I'll stop!

~Have you guys heard about Caitlyn? No not that Caitlyn, this Caitlyn!

Sadly this happened here in Charleston but it's been all over the National news. Her stupid owner was sick of her barking one night and decided the answer was to put electrical tape around your mouth. Someone saw the dog walking around and turned her into the Charleston Animal Society. She had to have surgery to take off some of her tongue and repair her torn lips and cheeks. She's recovering well and is going to be ready for a foster home soon!

What a sweet girl. How anyone could do such a horrible thing to a dog is just disgusting. The owner, if that's even what he's called, was arrested.

~Has anyone been watching Real Housewives of New York City this season? What is up with Bethenny, she's turned into such a cold bitch. I used to love her but this whole divorce and failing talk show has ruined her. Although I didn't know Jason had been cheating on her till she mentioned it on the show. But the funniest thing was when Kristen went up to confront Bethenny about saying she's stupid and Bethenny just walked away. Although Bethenny was so rude to her, I had to laugh because I think Kristen comes off as pretty dumb and I really don't think she fits on the show. Just keep working on your nail polish line Kristen.

~I have not been cooking at all lately so my favorite thing to do now is to stop by Whole Foods on my way home and pick one of their quiches. They're so good, my favorite is the Spinach and Feta. You just have to bake it for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. I like to justify that it's healthy because it has tons of spinach in it.

~I'm starting to get in full on nesting mode and really want to tackle some of the house projects we've been putting off before the baby comes. Problem is Theo says let's just work on the baby's room which I want to as well but there's also the kitchen that needs back splash, the downstairs half bath needs to be either wallpapered or painted, and the outside porch needs to be painted. And we can't forget the exterior of the house needs to be painted badly. I wish I had the funds to pay someone to do it all! None of these things are major but I just want them done!

~We have our family beach week coming up in a month and I seriously have ONE bathing suit that fits. I've been looking for a cute, non expensive maternity one piece to wear all summer and really love this Target one Meg talked about on her blog.

I'm all for one pieces and I think after I have the baby I'll still be sporting them. I know some women love having a big ole belly sticking out but I'm pasty pale and burn in 2.5 seconds so not having to worry about getting sun on my stomach would be fantastic.

I think this what Theo thinks about me 99.9% of the time

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. OMG I can't even deal with how upset that dog makes me. If I would have found her owner I would have super glued their mouth shut. I hope the "owner" does serious jail time. Poor pretty baby. On a happier note, love that bathing suit! The colors are so pretty! I've actually been loving one pieces lately too! Happy Friday girl!

  2. I'm still team bethanny....I think everyone knows how she is and they just take her or leave her...like it's not as if they have never seen her before lol!! I think she's just protecting herself!! That poor dog - it's really sick what the owner did. I'm so happy that she is ok. xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  3. That poor doggie, how can people treat animals like that. Hearbreaking. I use to feel bad for Bethanny but now I'm on the fens with her. She plays the victim card a bit too much for me. Enjoy your day off! Working and being pregnant isn't easy. I worked with one girl who worked up until the day before she gave birth. We kept telling her to stay home but she wouldn't. She said working helped with her anxiety. Whatever works, right.

  5. We live a few blocks from a Whole Foods and those quiches look perfect for nights when I don't feel like cooking! Also, I can't believe the previous owner of that sweet dog... so glad he was arrested.

  6. Ugh, I can't even believe someone could do that to a dog. It hearts my heart. So glad he was arrested! And I didn't know Jason was cheating on Bethenny!! That really surprises me!

  8. I love quiche and that one sounds really good. My mom used to send over quiche when I was pregnant with Emily. Being pregnant and working is exhausting. Thank god during my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I only worked part time!! xo I was the same way about wanting to get all the little house stuff finished up, but I'm still waiting on a few things. Everything takes so much time! xo Happy weekend!!

  10. Ugh I can't even look at those pictures of the pup, it breaks my heart!! I heard getting a tan can make stretch marks more obvious so a one piece is probably a really good idea, love the colors of that one! See you tonight!

  12. OMG. I totally got emotional about that dog story. I have no idea how someone could be so cruel. I'm so glad they got punished.

  14. First never feel badly complaining about a job! Being pregnant and working is hard enough but add to that a job that keeps you on your feet and the changes you've faces this year! Quiche is an amazing invention and the perfect summer dinner; I'm going to have to see if our little whole foods has that quiche as well (to keep me from not almost chopping off another finger!). I totally nest around week 20 so I love that you are as well! Check off as many house projects as you can now while you have the time and energy (just stay away from painting yourself and instead stick to prepping for Theo to paint). Hope you can enjoy the weekend and don't get called in!

  15. 22 weeks!? Where the heck does the time go! Sorry work is getting to be so hard on you, girl. You're a trooper! That pizza looks so fantastic. YES - Bethenny is the worst these days; like, I almost can't watch because of her hah. Poor puppy dog; I've been following this and am so glad it's received international attention.

    1. Awe, that's awesome, Morgan! Let us know how it goes. I'm so happy so many are willing and wanting to adopt her. I had no idea any of this happened in Charleston. I briefly skimmed the images and read what the man did to her and was broken hearted. It's disgusting. Thank heavens for GOOD people. Those who saw her and reported it right away, those who did her surgery and now those willing to adopt. Xo

  21. That quiche looks amazing! And OMG, Caitlyn. I cried like a baby. I can't even with people. I know I'm neurotic about my dogs and treat them like humans, but come on. xo
