Weekend

I don't think I've done a weekend post in a long time. It's not that we haven't done anything I just think I've been too occupied to remember to take pictures! I tried to do better this weekend!

Friday night consisted of steaks and sweet potatoes. We add Coconut Oil and cinnamon to our sweet potatoes and they're so sweet and delicious. Especially if you bake them till they're really soft on the inside.

We've been hanging out in our garage a lot lately because Theo got a pool table and hung a TV up.

He also became a carpenter overnight and decided to build some shelves to keep everything organized.

You should of seen our garage before. In fact no one saw it because we were so embarrassed about how junky it had gotten.  We gave away a ton of furniture we had and with the new shelves Theo built, it's like a new garage. I like to think this is Theo's version of "nesting" for the baby. HA!

For months and months, pretty much my whole pregnancy thus far, we've been trying to finish Bloodline. It's such a good show but we've only been able to watch one episode a night and would go weeks without watching it. Friday night we sat down and were determined to finish it. The ending was insane! If you're looking for a good summer show to start watching check it out on Netflix.

Saturday I met my good friend Cait at Saint Alban for brunch. It's a cute little restaurant on Upper King Street. I had their Egg Salad Sandwich. It was delish! I loved the little plate they served it on.

That night we headed to a wedding at the gorgeous William Aiken House. That might one of the prettiest wedding venues I've been to. I wore my ASOS Maternity Dress. I swear there's a bump there, black can hide anything!

I've been living in the Liz Lange Maternity tops at Target. Between these tops and the dresses, I think I'm set for summer.

I'm loving the second trimester so much but man am I hungry all the time. I find I have to eat as soon as I wake up or I'm famished. Since dairy breaks me out I was so happy when I found Goat Milk Yogurt at Whole Foods. It has just as much protein as cow's milk yogurt and tastes just as good. I love it with berries and granola on top.

Another quick breakfast I love is a toasted English Muffin with one of these egg white patties in between. It's an easy breakfast which is what I need since I'm always running out the door in the morning.

I've been waking up in the middle of the night lately and my mind starts racing. Last night it was all about work and how miserable I am and how this week is going to be horrible and how I don't know how I'm going to do it and then I start worrying about why I'm not feeling the baby kick since it's 4am and he always kicks at 4am. It was just a downward spiral. I always build things up in my mind and they're never as bad as I imagine them to be. And in the words of my husband, if I don't stop we're going to have a neurotic child too! I found this quote and it seemed very fitting.

  1. That steak looks amazing! And love your dress for the wedding! You looked gorgeous! And I do the same thing, building things up in my head. It's so annoying and frustrating sometimes!

  3. Love the dress!! And thanks for posting the quote....it was exactly what I needed to read after this week! Our genetic screening has not gone so well and we found my husband and I are both carriers of a mostly fatal genetic disorder. I had an amniocentesis on Friday and now we have to wait 3 weeks to find out if the baby has it or not! The quote was the perfect way to start this week off much better than the last!

  6. Wait goats milk yogurt? I am so intrigued! I think I need to try that! We are halfway through Bloodline this has motivated to get going. We are the same, can usually watch one and then when we remember to pick it back up it's like a week later. I love Coach Taylor in it ;-)
