Thoughts for Thursday

Is it just me or does the week feel like it's never going to end? I mean shouldn't today be Friday already? As I'm getting further to the end of my pregnancy I'm starting to get fatigue again. Actually it kind of comes and goes. I'll have bursts of energy and times when all I want to do is go to sleep. Cait came over this weekend to take pictures of the nursery and snapped this picture of the bump and me. I never really had the desire for maternity pictures. I was the girl who never did engagement pictures and everyone said I would regret it and I haven't regret it one bit, I'm more looking forward to the newborn pictures. I do love this picture though and will probably frame it in the nursery.

I starting packing little man's bags this week. I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow so my Dr. said it's that time!

I packed 2 outfits, one for newborn, one for 0-3 months in case he's a big one, swaddle blankets, burp cloths, diaper rash cream, diapers, a cover to breastfeed, nursing pads, nursing cream, hats, socks, mittens, two toys which I know aren't necessary but I just wanted to bring them.. what else do I need??

Shelby and I met up with Amanda from Kids and Cabernet this week. She's so tiny and cute and we had some great conversations. She was in town with her husband for their anniversary.

I'm loving Real Housewives of Orange County this year. I think Meghan is so psycho but I love all the drama she's bringing. I feel sorry for her husband Jim. I don't think he knew what he was getting into when he married her crazy self! The whole Brooks cancer thing is so bizarre but I wouldn't be surprised if he was making it up. For someone supposedly going through chemo, he looks really good.

I picked up these Cole Haan flats at our new DSW store last week. I love the reptile print and think they'll go with everything. Best of all they're so comfortable. I have the hardest time with flats not hurting my feet but I found the cheaper shoes are the worst.

I was stopped in my tracks when I saw this sweater at Target last weekend. Of course they were out of my size so I had to order it online but I think it will be great for lounging around the house while I'm on maternity leave. I'm planning on wearing leggings everyday after the baby comes so I think this will be great to wear over a nursing tank.

Did everyone hear the comment Joy Behar made about nurses this week on The View? She asked why the Miss America contestant, who is a nurse, was wearing a "doctor's stethoscope" around her neck during her monologue. Being a nurse of course I was offended. I mean anyone who's ever been to a hospital knows that pretty much any health professional who deals with patients, not just a doctor, uses a stethoscope. So I really just thought it was ignorant of her. And she's pretty dumb for pissing off the healthcare community. These are the people who keep you alive and well. But I am loving all the backlash she's getting!

And really? Didn't they learn anything after having one baby together?!

Linking up with Natalie and Annie who just gave birth to a precious baby girl this week!

  1. I've gotten more tired as we near the end too. And yes this week has lasted forever! We'll be 39 weeks on Monday, so I feel like that is making time stand still. Loved that pic of you in the nursery!

  3. Ah I love that photo :) I didn't hear about what they said on the View until this morning, so terrible! Nurses do most of the care! As for the baby bag, you probably won't use your nursing cover. Those nurses have seen it all and after giving birth, I figured what was the difference if they saw that half of me too? haha. I think you've got everything else covered though! I didn't use much of what I brought for R but I think it depends how long you are there! So bummed I couldn't make it to see you girls this week when Amanda was in town, y'all look gorgeous!

  4. Ohh it's getting so close to that time!! Honestly on your bag you packed...I wouldn't bring diaper cream, swaddle blankets or diapers. They give you all of that at the hospital. Instead, I'd bring an empty bag so you can stock up on all that stuff there and take it home with you. I think they give you nursing pads and cream too but not positive since I didn't need it. And I would pack more outfits for the baby if you plan on dressing him every day. Or in case for pictures. Hope this helps!! Oh maybe you want one swaddle blanket that's "pretty" for pics?!

  9. RHOC is SO GOOD this season. Megan is such a mess, but it's fine. I loved the last episode when Jim just kept saying, "You have to stop". Also, I can't believe Katherine and Thomas are pregnant again. They really are the dumbest. I saw Southern Charm filming at Sermet's last week, so I guess season 3 is a go.

  10. That picture of you is beyond beautiful! I cannot stand Megan Edmonds, but you're right, she sure is bringing some fun TV drama. Have you watched Ladies of London? I'm loving it!

  11. LOVE that picture Cait took of you! So pretty! And so glad you got to meet up with Amanda while she was there! Loving RHOC this year too. Meghan is so crazy but I definitely love her drama. I feel like her hubby definitely does not though! And wait, Kathryn is pregnant again?! Oh jeez...

  12. OMG, I cannot believe they're having another baby! At least that will make for a good season! And I'm loving RHOC right now, too... Megan is definitely crazy!

  13. It was so fun meeting you girls. Funny how they say when you meet other bloggers it's just like meeting up with a friend. I love that bump picture so much, it needs to be framed for sure. I'd say throw in an extra outfit or two for the baby in case there is any spit up or poop accidents. I know my daughter put her foot right into her poop at the hospital as I was changing her diaper lol - rookie mistake ;) and Megan is TOTALLY crazy omg her poor husband! She needs to mind her own business! It has made for an interesting season though.

  14. The little bag is so sweet- so close now! I love that picture Cait got of you- definitely needs to be framed! And yesss, Meghan is so nuts on RHOC-- maybe it's just the editing, but even her husband always seems so annoyed with her.

  15. That picture is gorgeous!! I was just thinking yesterday how much of my pregnancy (especially at the end) I took an afternoon nap and how good it feels to have energy all day! You may not need everything you packed unless you feel really strongly about the specific brands you prefer, like diapers, diaper rash cream, burp cloths and swaddle blankets as they'll give you all of that and more. If you need nipple cream you can also ask for that. Since your milk won't likely come in until after you leave, no need to bring nursing pads in my experience. If you want to dress him daily I would pack 1-2 outfits per day. I also would only bring toys if you want them for pictures; EG is 14(15?) weeks old and she's only just now starting to hold Sophie (but does love her stuffed animals and other soft things). If you end up having to pump in the hospital, be sure that they let you keep your pump pieces to use with your pump at home (you pay for them and they can't reuse them so you might as well have an extra set at home!). You're so close!!

  16. That picture of you is amazing that she took! Girl you are getting so close!!!! I'm so glad we were on the same page today about those "ladies" of the View. I think that meme puts it perfectly. I mean honestly how many times do your docs have their own stethoscopes? I can't tell you how many times I've had to chase mine down after I let them borrow mine ;-)

Be sure to get yours packed too because of course I had Madelyn's bag packed in time but I never packed my hospital bag and of course I went into labor early!!

  21. What beautiful photographs! Congratulations! I just found your blog from Home of Malones and am so glad I stumbled upon it! I can't believe that Kathryn Dennis is pregnant. Good lord! I thought they were so over. I loved watching Shep on the reunion tell them to "please don't hook up again, please!"

  22. Love your bump pic! And the OC is the only housewives I can get into too! So good... and so terrible at the same time. ha

  23. That photograph is so beautiful! Very classic and tasteful, it would be perfect hung in the nursery. I never did engagement photos either, and have also never regretted it.

And I am loving all the backlash the View is getting because I can't stand that show!
