life lately

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
My little Oliver is already a month old! He's not a newborn anymore! I can't believe it. This has been the fastest month of my life but yet I feel like I was pregnant years ago.

He's starting to smile in the morning which is the cutest thing ever. He's definitely a morning baby and hates the nights. We've been having the hardest time getting him to go to sleep at night. Not really sure what to do but wait till he gets so tired that he falls asleep on his own but my usual tricks aren't working anymore. And he won't take a paci so it's either me or nothing. He's starting to become so much more alert and you can tell he's really taking everything in.

Oliver's first Halloween. Sleepy baby and one tired mommy.

I made a batch of yummy lactation cookies this week, from this recipe. Maybe it's the placebo effect but I felt like they worked instantly. I don't have a supply issue so I didn't really need the cookies but I figured you can always find an excuse to eat cookies!

Has anyone else watched this show with Zack Morris and Mrs. Lachey?

It comes on Friday nights which is pretty dumb but since we have a baby now Friday nights in are the new normal! The show is actually really funny and Theo and I both like it which rarely happens these days.

One of Theo's clients brought him a few samples of this brand of hummus and they were both so good. Our favorite was the Mango Sriracha.

Has anyone ever tried this brand before? You can buy it from Whole Foods and I like that it's non GMO.

I'm loving the poncho trend this year. Plus they're great for when you're breastfeeding too.

I'm off to tend to my crying baby! Have a good Monday!

  1. Oh boy - he's just adorable and I can't believe he's a month old!! That was one of the shows I wanted to watch this season but totally forgot about it - time to catch up on demand! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. He's so cute!!! I just want to snuggle him right up! As he gets a little older he will start to figure out how to self-soothe and won't need you quite as much; just takes some time (and lots of morning coffee for you!). I bought a (splurge) grey poncho sweater during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and almost returned it; thank goodness I didn't because I wear it no less than 3 times a week! Perfect for running errands with a nursing baby!

  3. He's so adorable and has really grown! Have you tried the same routine each night of bath then feed then bed? That may help after doing it a few nights in a row...that way he can differentiate between naps and overnight sleep. Give it a few more weeks...around 8 weeks is really a corner they turn and life becomes easier. This is the hardest part Mama! You're doing a great job!!!

  5. Oh my gosh that picture of Oliver is the cutest!! He may like a paci eventually, don't give up hope! Does he still like the mamaroo? Rowan would pass out after about 5 minutes in there

  8. Oh my goodness, he's too cute! Glad everything is going good. My kids loved listening to music from an early age, I'd put on music and rock them (and of course breast fed) and they were out. I also had a white noise machine which worked wonders.

I need to check that show out, I had no idea it even started yet! xoxo

  9. You look amazing mama!! We use a sound machine at night which helps signal it's time for bed. I don't know how much it helped at one month (those days are blurry already!). I'm also loving the poncho trend and need to pick up one of those stat! They're great for hiding the mommy tummy (or holiday eating pudge ha)!

  21. I'm a little late but I can't believe he's a month old already! It goes by so fast!! Lactation cookies are my favorite, I wish I still had an excuse to eat cookies all day ;) I need to check out that show. I need to add a funny show to my line up I'm getting a little tired of all the dramas I watch.
