oliver at 5 months

So this is way behind, he'll be 6 months in less than 2 weeks, but better late than never!

Clothes
Oliver wears 3-6 months, 6 months, and is starting to fit in some 6-9 month clothes. He wears size 3 diapers.

Eating
This was the month we started formula and it's worked out great. He was starting to get really distracted when nursing and would only nurse for 5 minutes then pop off and act like he was done.  It was really stressing me out because I knew he wasn't getting enough to eat so I started exclusively pumping during the day so I could give him bottles and know the exact amount he was eating. I would pump, give him what I produced, and add formula to make a total of 6 oz. He gets 5 bottles a day of 6 oz and then I nursed him in the middle of the night, 1-2 times. I've slowly started dropping pumps each week and went from pumping 2 times at work to just once. I wanted him to get some amount of breast milk till he turned 6 months before I stopped for good.

We also started solids this month. His first food was sweet potatoes, which I make in the Baby Brezza and I can't recommend it enough! It steams and blends the food in the same bowl.  He's also tried apples, bananas, and green beans. Not a fan of the green beans, but we're working on it!

Schedule
He eats at 7 am, 10 am , 1 pm , 4 pm , 7 pm and then 1-2 times at night. He doesn't have a strict nap schedule because it all depends when he woke up from the last nap and how he long he's been awake. His wake time is the shortest in the morning, about an hour, then he can stay awake around 1 hour 30 minutes- 1 hour 45 minutes before he needs another nap. His naps are all over the place. He takes 3-4 a day with the last nap being a short catnap on the way home from my mom's house. His naps last anywhere from 45 minutes-2 hours.

Sleep
Oliver had a BAD 4 month sleep regression that I never thought was going to end! He went from only waking one time at night to waking two times and I had to nurse him or would he scream and cry and wouldn't go back to sleep. His wake times would be different every night so I knew it was truly hunger rather than a habit. Some days he would wake up at 5 am and be ready for the day. It was a bad month for all of us! I felt like I had a newborn again.

We transitioned him from the Rock 'n Play to his crib and stopped swaddling him and used the Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit instead. He had no problems going from the RnP to the crib and I know the sleepsuit definitely helped with that.

Likes
He loves his Fisher Price Kick 'n Play Piano Gym, it's seriously the best thing I've bought him. He loves to kick the piano keys and play music and play with the toys that dangle from it.

Dislikes
This month it's been sleep! HA! Teething, when you stop moving in the stroller or Ergo and being put down.
