five on friday

TGIF for real! I know it's been a short week but it's been a very long short week. It has not been the best week at work for me and I can't wait to recharge over the weekend and get a fresh start for next week. Here's to a great weekend!

one.

Beautycounter for Target comes out on Monday! I'm so excited and can't wait to stock up on smaller sizes of all my favorite products. This is a great time to sort of "sample" Beautycounter if you've been thinking about trying the line. I can't sing enough praises about how much I love their makeup and skincare. I don't sell it because I'm a horrible salesperson but I've definitely thought about it! Anyways, I'm really looking forward to getting the Nourishing Cleansing Balm, Cream Blusher in Hibiscus, the blush/bronzer duo and the Nourishing Cleansing Oil that's exclusive to Target, Charcoal Cleansing Bar and Mask and the Rose Water Mist. I bet everything will sell out fast so I plan on ordering my stuff online!

Since we're on the topic of healthy skin products, the FDA has finally decided to get rid of the chemical triclosan that is in antibacterial soaps. They have found that the soap does more harm than good. It's known to be a hormone disruptor, cause liver toxicity, and birth defects, and that using good old fashioned soap and water works just as well! This is awesome news for us healthcare workers because triclosan is in all of the soaps in hospitals. This chemical is the reason I brought my own soap to work when I was pregnant. I didn't want to take any chances with my baby. The soap I use at home is always free of triclosan and other chemicals you want to avoid like sodium laurel sulfate, and parabens. I like to buy Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap, you can actually use it to wash anything, it's an awesome soap!, Mrs. Meyer's, Seventh Generation, and Method.

three.

I shop at Amazon a lot. It really is the best isn't it? It's made me a total shipping snob too. If I have to order from somewhere else and it's going to be longer than 2 days, well I seriously think about not ordering it! So I recently heard about Smile.Amazon.com where 0.5% of your total goes toward an organization of your choice. It may not sound like a lot but every little bit helps and it doesn't cost you a thing. So why not do it? You don't have to stick to the same organization, you can change it as often as you like. I'm not always great about donating to good causes like I should but now that I know about Smile.Amazon I do! You just go to Smile.Amazon.com and type in your username and password. You have to remember to go onto "Smile" each time for the money to be donated.

four.

There's still a good bit for sale on my Instagram account @shopoliverscloset

Check it out, this is only half of it!

Somehow I thought it would be a great idea to have Oliver's first birthday at our house, we're inviting close to 45 people! Since we're going to be having all those people over, I've been looking for easy ways to revamp my house without spending a lot of money. Love this article I came across about Six Simple Ways to Make Your Home a Happier Place. I'm all about ways to increase calmness and decrease stress!

Have a great weekend!
