labor day weekend

by Ally- Life as I know it, 5:00 AM
So luckily we didn't get hit too hard from Hermine on Friday. Somehow our house got struck by lightening although I never saw the lightning or heard the thunder but I was standing by the microwave and heard a pop then a loud noise came from the fireplace. I thought I smelled gas so I grabbed the baby and walked outside to call Theo who was at work. Of course this was right when the rain and wind was at its worst but I put Oliver in his car seat and put Pixie in the back of the car and planned to drive to my mom's house. Theo called back and said he was on his way home and that the electric company was on there way as well. What I was smelling wasn't gas but a burning smell from one of our surge protectors that got hit. I'm so glad it wasn't a gas leak from our fireplace like I assumed it was!

The rest of the day was spent preventing this kid from causing harm to himself. If it's dangerous, he wants it!

Friday night Theo and I had a date night and ate at Moe's, so romantic!, and saw Don't Breathe. The movie was great, if you enjoy scary movies I highly recommend it!

Saturday we had plans to go to the aquarium but instead decided to meet up with our best buds at Taco Boy

All about the high fives lately!

We ate at Screen Door Saturday night. I was pretty disappointed in my meal, I had the lamb pita and it was basically a lamb hot dog on a pita. Theo got a burger and said it was a great though. I'm going to stick to ordering gyros at Greek restaurants!

Monday we tried out the new Toast in West Ashley for brunch. My Eggs Meeting Street was excellent.

To burn off our brunch, we walked to park near our house and let Oliver play on the swing.

The cooler weather, by cooler I mean 90 degrees instead of 95 degrees but it is 71 degrees in the morning!, has me all excited for fall. I picked up a few tops over the weekend. I love the Who What Wear line at Target. It's classic pieces that you can wear casual or for a night out.

I'm wearing a small. I originally wanted it in a medium because I hate shirts that are constricting, but I think this works well TTS. I can't wait to wear this with skinny jeans and cognac ankle boots.

I love this sweater, love the mustard color, just wish they had it in a bigger size. I'm wearing a small and it's just too small. I like sweaters to have a looser, boxier fit. I'm going to order the larger size online since a small was the only size available at my store.

A few more pieces I'm loving from the Who What Wear line:

This Bomber Jacket is perfect to over a loose t shirt and jeans. I've always wanted one in Army Green.

A feminine Blouse to wear out to dinner and drinks. It comes in three colors but I think Black Domino is my favorite.

I love that bell blouses are so in right now. I adore this one in white. Such a fun blouse!

Anyone have a fall wedding to go? I think this Olive Slip Dress would be perfect. It also comes in black and white striped too.

A yellow Bucket Tote that we can be worn cross body or over the shoulder. It looks like a lot more expensive than it is!

So happy for the short work week!
