Life Lately

by Ally- Life as I know it, 9:01 PM
We went to the Mumford and Sons concert last week and it was beyond amazing. Our tickets were in general admission and at first I was kind of dreading having to stand the whole time and wished we had seats. I wasn't looking forward to all the 20 year olds pushing me around and spilling their drink on everyone. It ended up being fine and we were like 4-5 rows back from the stage so that was awesome. And we only got cussed out once, so it was a great night!

The jeans I'm wearing are so good- on sale for $70! They're boyfriend style and high-waisted which are the only way I'll wear jeans now- hello Mom belly. I like that they're loose fitted yet keep you sucked in. They're total vanity sizing too. I had to size down to a 26 which I have never worn in my life. But, I'll take it!

I got a new skincare product I've been excited to share, Biologique Recherche P50. It's called a Lotion on the bottle but it's really an exfoliating toner. It was AHA/BHA in it and bunch of other stuff that works miracles. Evidently it's a cult favorite for years but I just recently heard about it. I assumed it was some fancy French product that worked but cost a fortune or was impossible to get to the USA. Turns out its neither of those! There's a few different options for each skin type but I went with the P50W which is for sensitive skin. I wasn't sure how my skin would handle it because according to the thousands of great reviews it's pretty potent. My skin has been fine and next time I'm going to order either the original, P50 1970 which has phenol in it, or the one without phenol. Phenol is an ingredient used to preserve bodies, I know gross!, but does wonders to your skin. It's banned in Europe but not in the US so I'm definitely leary of it. Anyways, it's been 2 weeks and I think I've had a bit of a purge phase but good skin is coming through. I'll report back in a few months!

St. Paddy's Day at Commonhouse Aleworks. Very kid friendly- they have astro turf! Now I want it in my backyard!

This past weekend at Two Blokes Brewery for story time. I promise we don't spend all our time at breweries!

This that $26 top I talked about before, I'm wearing it above. It's a good one!

I've been a crazy plant lady lately and bought this new Fiddle Leaf Fig

This Corn Plant

And these flowers for the outside

Oh yah, and this orchid

I blame it on Spring and this amazing weather we've been having.

I'm currently reading The Royal We and so far it's good. I mean it hasn't kept my attention so much I can't put it down but it's an easy, entertaining read.

Probably one of the most used items in our house lately is my Gathre Mat. I bought it last year when they had their big sale- it should be coming up, check it out! I got the square size, I think it's called Midi. We use it almost daily. It's perfect for when Oliver plays with his Play-Doh, kinetic sand, water beads, we've even had a few picnic lunches in the backyard on it.

I made this banana bread a few weeks ago and it was decent. It was super easy, healthy, and Oliver gobbled it up. Its also gluten free since it's made with only oats. I love simple recipes like this!

  1. It looks like you've been having a lot of fun family time! Your plants are gorgeous. Yay for your concert dance night!

  2. Your flowers are gorgeous! I was so jealous of the concert! It looked fab. I am intrigued by the Gathre mat and the banana bread. I am struggling with breakfast options for the kids right now.
