Life Lately

Happy Friday friends! Does anyone else feel like October is the month of birthdays? Between my family, people at work, and patients, it seems like everyday of the month is somebody's birthday! We celebrated Theo's birthday on Tuesday with burgers and cheesecake.

We went to the pumpkin patch on Sunday at Boone Hall. It had rained hard the day before so it was super muddy and I really regretted not putting all of us in rain boots! The weather was overcast and cool but very windy. It wasn't too crowded for once which was so nice.

Elsie came down with a fever that afternoon which I later found out was from Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. Luckily she's been ok and that was her only fever but she does have some sores on her body.- poor baby! I'm keeping my fingers crossed the rest of us don't get it because I've heard it's brutal for adults!

J. Crew was running some crazy sale last weekend where you could get 40% off with one code, then a different code gave you 20% off of that. Their Cocoon Coat  has been on my wish list for years but it's too expensive to pay full price for. But with the two codes you ended up getting $200 off so I snatched it up! My mom and I are going to NYC in December and when I went that same week 3 years ago it was freezing so I'm hoping this coat will keep me warm! I bought it in the Sandstone color in a size 4. I normally wear a 6 or even an 8 in coats because I like the extra room but the reviews said it ran big so I went with my normal size.

Speaking of J.Crew, if you looking for some straight leg jeans but aren't ready to try that full mom jean look check out these Vintage Straight Eco Jeans with Button  Fly. They're very high waisted so they suck you in and they're a little more loose in the legs than skinny jeans. I love the button fly for tucking in shirts. Sizing wise I went with a 27. I was a pretty solid size 27 in jeans pre kids but since having kids (they're  just the gift that keeps on giving right!?)  I'm more like a 27/28. The reviews said to order a size down or if you're in between sizes order the smaller size so I went with a 27. I love the way they fit and I'm not usually a J.Crew jean fan. Use code WEARNOW for 35% - brings it to $58

One thing I'm trying to get better about is washing my makeup brushes more often- I'm talking weekly. I have the most sensitive skin and I swear if I look at my face the wrong way it'll break out so keeping my brushes clean is pretty crucial. Except I never remember to do it! Sunday night or day is  now the day I'm devoting to cleaning my brushes. This cleaner is awesome and you don't need much of it. I used to use shampoo to clean my brushes and it would take so much to get them all clean. This brush cleaner is awesome and gets the job done so fast.

Wedding fun last Friday night. It was a perfect fall night at the most beautiful venue.

My dress / my earrings are no longer available but they're Laura Cox Collection. Check her out  because she may restock. I'm obsessed with them. They remind me of a much more expensive brand and I'm sure the quality isn't that much different!

Lastly, I have another Pumpkin Bread recipe to share- and it's my favorite! I had 3 bananas going bad and a can of pumpkin in the pantry so I Googled "banana and pumpkin bread" and found this recipe from All Recipes. It was amazing, so moist, and had so much flavor. Oliver and I love pumpkin bread so between the two of us, it was gone in 2 days!
