Checking In

Hey friends! How's everyone doing? These are some strange times with so many uncertainties. I'm very fortunate that my place of work has allowed us to choose if we want to work or not, and I chose not to. It makes me so thankful I'm no longer a hospital nurse that wouldn't have a choice. But now the issue is how am I going to get paid being an hourly employee? PTO but that will eventually run out.  It's very scary for so many people who also don't have jobs where they're able to work from home or just aren't needed right now. Not gonna lie, I'm getting a little annoyed with all the "Nordstrom is having a 25% off sale right now!" posts that so many influencers are talking about. It's just not the time.

I feel so much more safe and secure being at home than I was at work. Every patient I came in contact with I couldn't help but think that they could possibly have Coronavirus. Being at home with the kids these past few days has actually been so nice and relaxing. I'm really enjoying not having anything to do or anywhere to go. We bought a jump castle from a friend and the kids have had a blast with it. The weather has been amazing so we've just been outside most of the time aside from naps and lunch. I truly feel like we're in a bubble. As much as I HATED doing this, we've told my parents they can't be around us for a few weeks. It's for all of our protection. They're in their 60's and 70's and I just couldn't live with myself if one of them got sick.

There's so much conflicting data out there about the virus it's hard to know what to believe! Lately I've been hearing that 86% of people are walking around with it and they'll never know it. WTF!? Then I've also heard that in some states there are 30 year olds on ventilators. Totally different ends of the spectrum! Every time we put on the news at night it's something different. I'm just ready for it all to be over with!

Some recent snaps:

Do you use the Chick Fil A app? If you aren't familiar with it, every time you buy something have them scan your app's barcode and you gain points. Last week I used the points and got the kids their own ice cream cones for free. I was worried Elsie wouldn't know what to do with an ice cream cone, but oh she knew exactly what to do!

Speaking of ice cream, my kids are forever not finishing their bananas so I now cut what they don't eat into small pieces and freeze the pieces in zip lock baggies. Then once the pieces are all frozen, I make banana ice cream. There's no recipe to follow I just throw a handful of frozen banana pieces in the blender, a small pour of milk, and a dash of vanilla. I blend until it's creamy. Oliver loves his with sprinkles on top.

We had some Motherhood Mini pictures taken last weekend with my good friend Caitlyn Motycka Photography. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

A random quarantine OOTD. I still get dressed in normal clothes and put makeup on because it makes me feel good and like a human even though I'm just sitting in my backyard.

I've been watching Love is Blind on Netflix this week. I think I'm 2 episodes away from the finale and I can't wait to see who ends up getting married.

I ordered this bathing suit from J.Crew last week, before everything went crazy. It's a bit out of my comfort zone but it really caught my eye. I've been a one piece girl ever since I've had my babies but I'm finally back to my pre pregnancy weight, before Elsie, and I feel a little more confident wearing a two piece. A very high waisted one!

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and that this is all over with soon and before we know it, it's a distant memory!
