5 on Friday

by Ally- Life as I know it, 12:00 AM

My Oliver turns 5 today! I truly can't believe it. It feels more like 3 years, definitely not 5. We celebrated his birthday party on Sunday. He wanted a Super Mario Brothers party so that's what we did! We rented a jump castle and had 4 friends and their siblings to celebrate with us. The weather was amazing and it was a great party. I got Oliver's Mario Shirt from here if anyone is curious. He's worn at all week long which means I've had to wash it every single day. I told him he could do it this week since it's his birthday week but that's it!

How precious is this pumpkin waffle maker I found at Target?! Only $10 too! It makes the cutest little waffles.

I was so excited when this cookbook came out- The Southern Entertainer's Cookbook. The cover is stunning to begin with but the recipes all look delicious. The book is filled with beautiful tablescapes and pretty ways to display food. If you're Southern as well or just love new cookbooks, I highly recommend checking it out. I made her Cheesy Baked Potato Soup recipe last week when we had a cold, fall night and I was amazed with how easy it was to put together. And I can't wait to make her Game Day Chili and the Southern Fried Chicken Cobb Salad looks mouthwatering!

Our house is all ready for Halloween! Theo told Oliver he could pick out one new thing this year and of course he picked out the 12 foot tall Grim Reaper. I honestly thought he would be scared of him but nope! Holidays are so much fun with kids, aren't they?

I love all things pumpkin, I'm pretty basic what can I say, and look so forward to pumpkin beers. My friend introduced me to pumpkin cider and I have to say I think I like it more than the beer. It's lighter, beer leaves you feeling so heavy and bloated, yet still has all the yumminess of pumpkin spice. Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cider was really good but then I tried this one, Doc's Cider, and it's definitely my favorite. If you live in Charleston I found it at House of Brews.
